Well I guess I'm back. Probably not for long tho. I am writing Abitur soon (so basically my finals) therefore I'm basically having no time, I hope y'all understand that because of that I'm not updating so often.
Have fun with the chapter.Rex was shaking as they brought him back. It had been a hard task to pry him away from Ahus corpse.
Anaking had tried to talk with him, but talking to a hyperdrive would have been more effective.
Ahsoka looked up as they guided him inside. He curled down in his edge of the hole.
After a moment of observing his distraughted state, she made a weak attempt to crawl over to him.
Obviously she didn't manage, but Anakin got the motion, lifted her up and layed her in Rex lap.
Rex... didn't even react. He just was silently crying and it broke all of their hearts.
Their captain. The one that had stayed strong during this all. That all three of them had relied on because he was like a rock in the currents of this mess.
Now he was in pieces, floating in a sea of tears.
Ahu had kept him together. Now she was gone.
"We will bury it.." Obi-Wan started "Say goodbye properly..."
Rex didn't reply anything.
Anakin let his gaze wander down "Good idea Obi-Wan. Why don't we two already start." he replied. 'Why don't we give him some space' he meant.
Ahsoka didn't say anything. Instead she used all the bit of strength she had to wrap her hand around Rex's.
She knew no words would be able to help him. Not a single one and not a thousand.
But he wasn't alone. He wasn't lost. And she would make sure he remembered that.
The sobbed as she took his hand. He actually, really sobbed.
No one of them had seen him sob so far. He has seen hundreds of brothers die, and all the other brutal crimes of war. He never shed a tear. He was born for it.
But this here was different. This here was no battlefield. No ship.
There were no orders to follow on a place where no one gave them.
No rules of behaviour when no one was there to control them.
No walls to hold the tears back...
But a soft hand in his that told him he was not alone.
That told him no matter wether he was weak or crying, he wouldn't never be.
That of all things it was okay to cry. To be sad. To mourn. To feel lost.
Ahsokas smile was weak as he looked at her, sad even. But it was true. At least it was true.
Rex clutched his little sister close.
His little sister that lived.
He wouldn't loose her too. He promised himself that. And if it would cost him every last ounce of his time and strength.
No one of his Jedi was going to die down here.
That was a promise.
He didn't speak it out loud, but in his thoughts he spoke it loud and clear, for only the galaxy itself to hear. 'I won't let them die. We will survive'
