Afterwards Calico told me more details about the rumours and the Black Port. He filled me in and how it actually all worked and what I had to expect. I never went to the Black Port; it was a place for those making blood money in the dirtiest of ways.

However the things that could be obtained in this place seemed interesting and half the things he said I had never thought existed before.

We had decided to meet there in five days. It was a two day journey but apparently there were going to be some ‘extravagant’ buyers coming. I was unsettled by the glint in Calico’s eyes when he mentioned this but there was nothing else for me to do but wait, and see.

As we left and made our way back to the ship I felt determination build inside me as the thought of how close I was to the dream, to the goal I’ve for so long wanted to achieve. It was all coming true now; with this woman I was going to be free.

My hands were tight on Saniya’s arm and a smile twitched on my face as I thought about everything new I had learnt

A rare gem was in my possession now

What was I supposed to say? What was I supposed to do? I knew what I was definitely not going to do! I was not going to get sold by some greedy, gruesome men to be given to some greedier, gruesome men. No it was not going to happen.

Christof was pulling me by the arm and now I was sick of it. I was sick of all of it, men controlling me, telling me what to do and when to do it.

I looked around and saw the white fog had lightened up a little, allowing my eyes to pick up exactly where we were.

I saw a slope of grassy mud meeting up to some trees. The slope was bordering along the coast and it ran along as much as I could see before disappearing into the white abyss. The trees reached the top edge of the slope after becoming a never ending sea beyond it.

Christof was dragging me across the pier now and I stumbled as my feet stepped upon it. I gritted my teeth as I hated how this was. I was a princess! I did not become dragged around like a rag doll.

All at once I dug my heels and the sudden jerk made us almost topple off the pier. I whipped my arm out of his clutches.

“What?” Christof looked baffled for a moment before his faced formed an annoyed scowl.

“How dare you try to sell me? Try to control me however you want, whenever you want,” I shrieked at him. I could not hold it any longer and I clenched my fists tightly as I shook with anger.

“Because I can!” Christof growled at me reaching for my arm again. I jumped back, moving my arm away from his claws.

“No. Not anymore you can,” I hissed at him, I was not going anywhere with him. “You are not going to take me on that bloody ship of yours!”

Christof’s jaw tightened and he took a menacing step towards me. I stepped back quickly.

He stopped. His black hat shadowed his face in darkness with only green ghoulish eyes conveying his anger. I gulped at his dark, brooding power but stood my ground.

Suddenly he threw his head back in laughter, his wicked voice filled my heart with fright and shivers raked through my body at the mocking sound.

He met my eyes. His green ones gleaming in amusement as he folded his arms across his chest making his over powering form dangerous and predatory.
