Screams and shouts of villagers echoed in the night as they ran for their lives, away from the flames. Buildings crashed down and black smoke rose out hauntingly from its slumber. I pulled my collars up and lowered my hat shielding my face from the ash and dust.

I stood in front of her, the monster, the cause of this destruction . . . The Witch! I took one step forward. Anger was surging all around, like a snake slowly slithering around my mind leaving me in complete rage. My fists were clenched so tightly that they were shaking.

My knuckles where turning white. I gritted my teeth as I held back the curses rolling off my tongue. I could not look at her without wanting to rip her to pieces.

The Witch watched me intently, her eyes gleaming in pure joy at the chaos she had created. Her pale white face was an abnormal contrast to her black eyes and crimson blood hair

I tightened my jaw as I tried to calm myself down. The witch was smirking as she could see how much I was affected by her. She crossed her arms across her very open neckline and waited for me, she knew I had things to say.

I had a lot to say.

“Why are you destroying the village?” I managed to say, though it sounded more like a growl.

Her grin widened, “Because you tried to meddle around with me.”

My eyes narrowed, she was making it seem that it was my fault. She wanted me to feel guilt, but I knew better. Witches always used your own emotions to destroy you.

“Why did you set it on fire, you could have killed me instead.”

She laughed half heartedly, “Letting you see what disasters I can cause, what power I have is much more fun."

“How –

“My turn for questions!” the Witch interrupted, her smirk long gone and was replaced with a slight frown.

I stayed silent as I waited for her to speak.

“How did you know I was here, or more or less how did you know about me specifically, Hmm?”

I stayed silent; I could not reveal the truth.

“Tut tut tut, I did not keep secrets from you now, how did you know?” she questioned, irritated she was not finding out.

“It was easy to find the stench of monster, you reek of it” I spat out, disgusted by her mere appearance.

“Cut all the nonsense, Christof. You know I can easily find out.” She snapped back, her eyes switching from human to pure black, no whites.

She stared at me intently. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to focus on something. Then she closed her eyes, and her face relaxed and composed itself. “Someone told you.” She breathed out.

I kept my face neutral, the less she knew the better.

“Tell me who told you.” She commanded in a low voice.

I folded my arms across my chest; I was not going to tell her anything.

Her eyes narrowed to deathly slits and she marched to me, “Tell me WHO told you!” she hissed.
