We waited for night fall. It would be easier to attack when darkness helped us. Everyone was in position, they all we ready to move when I told them to. I crouched low, behind the bushes. After being told who was here, I knew I had to do the right thing. There was no choice.

Ai was close by, he looked my way and I gave him a simple nod before he drew out his daggers, one in each hand. Guards walked past but not long after they collapsed to the floor, blades lodged into their throats. A small smile crept on my face; this was going to be exciting.

Suddenly Ai gave a small hand gesture to a crew member on the other side of the fortress, a few minutes passed before we saw grappling hooks thrown up in the air and over the side of the stoned walls. A few men started to climb up the wall, while a few others and I moved forwards, hiding in the shadows.

I stood before the large, black, ironed gate waiting. All of a sudden, the sound of cogs turning and chains rattling echoed through the night, with a loud cry in pain, the gate slowly heaved open. I strode through, one hand on the hilt of my sword while I used my other to tilt my hat up.

We were in!

We had not taken more than a few steps before, Alarm bells were being rung. The loud, chimes echoed around the courtyard. I stood still, waiting for what was to come. We were in dangerous areas, but I knew we would get out this alright.

The moon shone clearly down, like a beacon of white light concentrated on the courtyard and nowhere else. It made it easier for us to see, however it made whatever were in the shadows casted, able to see us too. All our senses were on alert as we scanned our surroundings.

Large, grey stoned walls bordered around us. The giant blocks reached the skies and towered over, trapping us like sheep in a pen.  Small windows were dotted around the walls on either side of us, yet a large window sat intimidating in the middle of the wall in front.

A large crescent balcony rimmed the window and heavy curtains draped over the glass, shielding whoever from us.

There was an eerie silent, only the solemn bells ringing, was an assurance that they were here. I could feel my men become restless as we waited; some even exchanged a few whispers before others hushed them.

Something did not feel right, I knew we were being watched ever since I took my first step in, but this was different it felt like they were expecting us to come. They knew we would be here. How?

I strode forwards to the middle of the courtyard. My men lingering back as they watched carefully what I was doing. Not all of them knew what they were dealing with here; if they did they may have not come.

A rat scurried quickly across the cobbled floors, jolting a few members of the crew. There was no wind in the air. It was calm, very calm.

Suddenly a flame burst out on a torch high up in the right wall. I kept my face forward, but my eyes kept a close watch on the walls as one by one each torch lit. Torches were lit all around us, creating more light for us to see, although it made everyone more uncomfortable.
