"That was so much fun," Manisha laughs, as she plops all of the bags on my bed. "We should definitely do it again."
"Totally!" I agree, somewhat distracted with the need to find Cato.
"I can sense your shift in emotion," she smiles, smugly. "So I'm gonna take that as my cue. I'll see you later, Adhira," she smirks as she blows me a kiss and makes her way out of my room. I immediately start pacing anxiously. Forcing myself to take a deep breath, I near my door, open it, and begin making my way towards his room. It isn't until I am standing in front of it that I realize how idiotic I am. Turning to leave, I cringe as the door opens.
"Adhira," his rumbles run straight to my core, sending shivers down my body. I sense him at my back as he continues. "What is it with you enjoying me behind you," he smugs. Without answer, I turn, making my way past him and into his room. I hear the click of his door closing as he follows me inside.
I take in his room, the last time I was here the furnishings being the last thing on my mind. His ceiling is the same green marble as mine, but that is where the similarity ends. The bed is facing the door on a raised floor along with the rest of his bedroom area, while on my lower step lies a black leather couch to my right facing a coffee table and tv, and a door to my left with I am assuming a closet or a bathroom in it.
"Adhira," Cato grumbles again, reminding me of where I was and who I was with. He runs his fingers delicately up my arms, causing goosebumps as he says "You came back." I nod, unable to form sentences. "I'm glad," he continues releasing a huff on top of my head, rustling my hair. "Princess," he says, turning me around to face him. I glue my eyes to his shirt, stretched thin against his muscles. "Adhira," he whispers, bringing a hand up to my chin, lifting my eyes up to meet his. I swallow as I am caught up in the mesmerizing swirls of green.
"I lied to you before," he starts, his hand resting on my cheek as his face inches closer. It takes me a second to register his words before my look becomes quizzicle.
"About what?" I ask, the words barely audible.
"If you decided to leave," he swallows. "I don't think I would have been able to let you go."
I am hardly able to process the words before his lips crash into mine.
