"Don't tell me you're regretting your decision, Princess?" Najiba's voice calls from behind me as I pull my daggers from the target. Bullseye.

"Go away, Princess," I snarl, reminding Najiba of her matching title. "As fun as your constant criticism is, I don't feel like being berated today," I pull my final dagger from the bullseye, turning to meet her eyes as I walk back to my spot.

"Shame," she snickers. "And here I thought you actually gained some backbone from your time training with me."

"Guess you were wrong," I respond flatly, throwing the dagger, hitting the target right in the center.

"He won't let them hurt you," Najiba says, the slightest edge of softness in her voice.

"I don't even think he'll let me go."

"Let you go?" she laughs. "Since when do you listen to orders?"

"He doesn't trust me, Najiba!" I scream, the dagger hitting slightly to the left of the bullseye before turning back to meet her. "He doesn't think that I can handle them."

"You can't," she states simply. I don't think, I simply take the dagger and throw it across the feet of distance between us, the blade aimed right for her heart. There's a whorl of black as Najiba flips, dodging the dagger before landing silently on the ground, the dagger clutched in her hand. My eyes go wide as I realize what I almost did, but Najiba simply laughs. "Not bad," she smirks.

"I can handle them," I take a deep breath. Najiba's smirk disappears as she answers, "Can you?"

"Yes."

"Did Cato tell you we had a brother?"
