I felt my eyes gloss over as my mum lazily repeated herself for the 5th time. I fiddled with my rings nervously as she spoke.
"Are you sure you want to do this? The tour is pretty long, and, you won't even be home for your birthday or Christmas. All you do is take pictures, Alex. She's just Billie Eilish. Nobody special."
"Mum, she's special to millions of people, you can't just say that." I scoffed. "Of course I want to help her out. The pictures I take could end up being known, she's giving me such an opportunity."
She rolled her eyes, and shuffled her feet as she looked around. We were in Billie's front yard, boarding the tour bus.
"Call every day? I'll be disappointed if you're just doing this so get out the house for a few months." She said, ignoring my statement.
"Call every day. I couldn't exactly turn this big opportunity down."
I suddenly got ripped out of conversation with my mum, a warm, welcoming voice cooing me from somewhere.
"Alex, are you coming, dear? All your stuff is here, and we're shooting off in a few minutes!"
Maggie.
I looked around to try and find her, she wasn't standing outside the house with us anymore, and I couldn't see Billie either. I completely turned my body around to face the massive bus and saw her smiling at me, so I nodded and gave her a thumbs up when our eyes met. She smiled wider in satisfaction and went back to help Patrick with the suitcases.
My mum sighed and rubbed my arm. "I'll really miss you, you know. You better behave or you're out."
I fiddled with my sleeves, trying to spit out a response.
"Yeah. Uh, I'll miss you t-"
Her phone then started to ring from her pocket. She reached into her pocket and grabbed it, and swiped quickly. "I have to take this. Bye."
And with that, I was left infront of a huge, big black tour bus and absolutely no idea what I was doing. My mum didn't even look back one more time to wave at me. Or, maybe I was just being needy.
I just stood there like an idiot.
Sooner or later, I ended up wandering up the small entrance stairs into the bus, I felt the cold metal graze my fingertips as I walked through the sliding door. I instantly got hit with the smell of new clothes.
Maggie waved to me from the small kitchen area and I stiffly smiled back before walking past Finneas and Patrick who were unpacking, and bolted straight into where I thought I was gonna be alone. I wanted to be alone. But, before I could go up to the bunks, I saw something in the corner of my eye.
A door.
There was a small, secluded room at the back, next to the stairs that I nearly completely missed. I barged into it and closed the door, letting out a breath I didn't even know I had in me. I didn't know I'd feel the pressure for literally taking photos already.
Okay.
Here's a good place to start.
I'm Alexandra.
Call me Alex or I'd literally fucking throw up in your face. My parents obviously hated me and I'm pretty sure they googled "easy baby names" when I was born just to get it over with. No offence if your name is Alex.
Anyway. I had just happened to be at the right place at the right time for Billie's team to notice my work and request for me to come here for her tour after I had literally just finished school. I'm seventeen, turning eighteen in a few days.
