BILLIE'S POV

"The fuck?"

I put the burrito wrapper down as I patted my stomach. I missed the feeling of eating bomb ass food. This was my third burrito for the day.

I know, that's weak.

"You threatened Alex? You told her to stop talking to me? Because I was too sad to make an album? This is why I don't fucking tell you and your pack of shitty old men things about me, Robert. Go call her or something and undo all that bullshit you said."

Claudia was looking at me with concern as I held the phone up to my ear, her face in a frown. Looking at Finneas, she inaudibly sighed in his direction before averting her eyes back to me again.

"I can't tell her because- because of reasons. You're too fucking delusional to understand, Rob. Fix this."

The small beep of the phone indicating I hung up had sounded and I put the phone down next to me before rubbing my temples in frustration.

Only that douchebag knew how to get under my skin.

And not in the god damn nice way, either.

"You're not one to give up on something, Bils." Claudia softly said, adjusting her hoodie slightly and placing her hand on my leg reassuringly.

"Rob saw Alex today. Gave her shit and made her walk out the damn shop, apparently. It was at a coffee shop or something?"

Claudia cocked her head to the side. "Weird. She hates coffee."

"How the fuck do you know that?"

"She told me, doof."

"You're the doof."

"You're the doof."

Suddenly, Finneas threw his hands up from his spot on the floor. "You're both doofs!" He broke the argument.

We all burst into a fit of laughter until we sat in a comfortable silence again after his witty remark over the soft hum of the now fluent ukulele chords he eventually showed me.

"What are you gonna do about Rob?" Claudia asked after a while.

I shrugged. "Dunno, dude. I think I'm gonna try and talk to Alex about this. I can't have her thinking I got Rob to say that shit to her. I can't just walk to her house because of..." I trailed, fixing my gaze to the boot that was on my foot, leaving a dent in my mattress.

"Talk to Katie." Finneas suddenly said.

"Why? She literally ditched me for Alex. Why the fuck would I wanna talk to her? Can you tell she has a crush on Alex? Is it not obvious to you?"

He let out a small laugh as he shut the lid to his laptop and stood up, leaving the ukulele in the spot on the floor next to where he was previously sitting. "Sounds like you're pretty defensive over Katie." He mumbled.

I reached beside me and threw a small pillow in his direction, but, of course, he dodged it with a stupid smile.

"Am not! She told me if I didn't fix this mess then she will. What does that mean? Is she gonna fuck Alex behind my back?"

Finneas cleared his throat as he made his way out my red bedroom, hugging the MacBook against his chest.

"It's not really your place to control the way they feel for each-other. Just ask Katie for her number, that's all, Bils." He muttered.

"Fuck you!"

But, he was too far away by now to hear that response.

I huffed and turned to Claudia. "Do you ever regret dating that thing?"

She let out a soft chuckle.

"That thing is extremely-"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Do you have Alex's number?"

She pulled out her phone from her pocket and started to swipe through all the apps.

"Uh, I don't know, actually. Can't you just DM her on Instagram?" She said, her eyes never leaving the small gadget.

"Do I look like I'm fucking 12? I wanna do this shit properly. Do you have her number or not?"

She winced at the harsh tone I was using.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to shout. I just- I just need to talk to her after what Rob said, because she already hates me."

She kept her firm gaze on her phone until her face lit up, before looking up at me and nodding eagerly as she bit her lip.

"Got it."
