The next morning, I was greeted by a strange sight. Billie was sitting on the floor of the tour bus with a spoon hanging from her mouth, and milk overflowing from the sides of the bowl every few seconds as the bus shook.
She was letting out a sweet laugh at a Tik Tok she was watching, completely oblivious to the fact that everyone on the bus was probably still sound asleep.
...Or the small, tiny spider that was making its way towards her bowl of cereal.
She looked up at me and smiled warmly, turning her phone off and putting it down beside her, nearly jumping out of her skin at the tiny creature. "Holy fucking shit, dude!"
She reached over to pick it up and watched as it's little legs ran around from one hand to another. I tried not to squirm at the terrifying thing.
"Morning, little miss photographer. How'd you sleep?" She asked, her eyes still attached to the creature.
"Like a log. I can't breathe in those bunks."
She scoffed slightly. "Right? I'd rather sleep on the floor."
I walked past her to find an empty box of cereal on the side. "You ate all the fucking Reese's puffs?"
"Yup. They taste like fucking heaven. Though, they low-key—"
"Good morning, Alex! Sorry about the argument last night." Finneas interrupted, walking into the small kitchen area, and picking up the empty cereal box. "We haven't even had these for a day and someone has already devoured these?"
Billie rolled her eyes and had another spoonful of cereal, giggling at the milk that splashed in her eye as she aggressively dropped the spoon back in the bowl, the small spider crawling away as she put it down.
"Better clean that up, Bils. Mom would-"
"Can you shut the fuck up about all that mom shit? You're acting like me and her are strangers. It's just fucking milk." She scoffed and picked herself up, bringing the bowl with her and walking away. "Imma eat this where I'm not gonna get fucking judged like a fucking court case."
Once the girl was out of sight, I heard Finneas sigh behind me.
"What's up with her?" I asked. "She seems so off, but, then again, I've only known her for about half a day."
He shrugged, "I don't think she's getting back into the routine of tour yet. She'll come around eventually."
"Are you sure it's not like... Something personal?"
"She's been doing so good recently, Alex. I really do think it's just her not adjusting. I'll talk to her later."
He was talking to me like we knew each other since we were kids. Bare in mind, I was new to everyone, but they all seemed so optimistic and okay with me joining them for this tour.
The only person who I knew, barely, was Maggie. She had called me to arrange tour dates and where to meet them when we boarded.
I was only joining them for a few weeks— not months like my mum had over dramatically stated— as they didn't need photos for each show, because that would batter my SD card.He grabbed a small glass and the leftover almond milk carton from Billie's breakfast, and poured himself a glass as I made my way over to the small door of the left of the stairs.
I had a feeling this room would be her new hideout as we travel.
I twisted the doorknob and opened the creaky door slightly, looking around the tiny room to try and see her. Nothing.
But, peaking from the side of a box in the middle, I saw a small space bun with a green tinge at the bottom, bobbing up and down as she chewed her cereal, the top of her face was illuminated by her phone, she was silently chuckling at Tik Tok again.
