Chapter 16 - First Time

Chloe and Chicago spent the evening together on their own. Chicago did message Aubrey, but she decided to catch up with them tomorrow and let them have an evening on their own. They decided to go to the diner to get some dinner seeing as how Chicago hadn't eaten since the plane.

Chloe was happy to see Chicago, but she found herself worrying more about Beca as time went on and on. They were cuddled up in bed watching a series, The Society. Chicago had wanted to watch for a bit of time but had waited for Chloe as he knew that she'd probably enjoy it too. They'd watched a couple of episodes and as it drew nearer to 11pm Chloe was getting more worried. She'd checked her phone a couple of times but there was nothing from anyone.

"You ok, babe? You keep checking your phone?"

"Yeah, sorry. A lot of shit went down today with Beca, and no one's heard from her since. I thought I'd at least hear something from Emily too, but I haven't"

"Oh, what happened? I thought you didn't like her?"

"She's alright once you get to know her, and just family stuff. They had a massive row, and no one's heard from her since"

"Why don't you text Emily?"

"I'll call her in the morning, the day she's had she's probably asleep" Chloe slightly smiles at him. "Can we go to sleep too, after this episode?"

"Yeah of course we can, darling"

Chloe woke up in the middle of the night to her wrist vibrating. Her watch was buzzing as she was receiving a phone call. She rubbed her eyes and checked the time. Looking over at Chicago, he was snoring away. Picking up her phone, she read Beca's name and instantly swiped to answer.

"Beca? It's 3am, are you okay?" Chloe whispered.

"I'm outside your building, come out, please"

"Alright, hang on, I'll be out in a sec" She hung up.

Chloe was already in shorts and a top, so she just grabbed a hoodie and slipped on her vans quietly and left the room. She took one last glance at Chicago who was thankfully still snoring away.

Once she had walked out of the main door, she instantly saw Beca and walked over to hug her.

"Hey" Chloe smiled.

"Walk with me?" Beca questioned, looking over at Chloe.

Nodding her head, she let Beca guide her to where she wanted to walk.

"So, where have you been?" Chloe asked.

"Just driving around mainly. I needed to clear my head"

"What happened? Emily phoned about an argument and that my name was brought up, but that was all I got from her"

The two girls were walking all around the campus, and Beca was explaining everything that had happened in that morning. Chloe didn't say a word, she just let Beca talk and listened to everything that she had to say. Chloe didn't understand the full thing with her father, but Chloe was certain that one day, when Beca was ready, she would find out why they had a strained relationship.

"Have you spoken to anyone?"

"No, you're the first person that I have spoken to since this morning"
