"Sophie! What were you thinking?! You could have fallen!" Well, that was the point wasn't it... "Oh stop pretending to care. Leave off, who cares if I fell, I'm a ghost anyways." Tam and Glimmer look like they want to argue, but I drown them out and stare out again.

"We care Sophie. We know what it feels like, take it from someone who was in the same position as you." This gets my attention, I turn my tear streaked face towards them. "After my parents kicked us out I didn't know what to do or how to cope, Exillium was shit and Linh wouldn't talk. My life was shit and I just wanted it to be over, but I had to think about what if.

"If I had jumped, I would leave my sister behind. She would be family less, at a new school, and have no one caring about her. The things you do will not only affect you, but the people who care about you. Even though everyone was insensitive about your feelings, you can't just run away. And you don't want to die being a coward."

That made me laugh, "Gods, you are convincing..." I look over the edge one more time, the edge that could end my suffering and cause suffering on my friends and family. Guilt washed over me, "What was I thinking." I finally managed to get out, Tam and Glimmer were blurs of things, tears and rain drops were blurring my vision.

Covering my mouth to contain my sobs, I ran to my friends and hugged them. Glimmer seemed shocked that she was included in the sentiment, but hugged me back. Tam just hugged both of us together and for once during all those months, I finally felt at peace—or as close as I could.

Sophie Foster turned around and saw someone she didn't expect to see. She meets eyes with Ro, Keefe's Ogre bodyguard. There haven't been many sightings of her since Keefe's disappearance, but we all know it's because she thinks it's her fault. "No," Sophie looks at her and gives what she hopes is somewhat a smile, "Not today, not now. I still have people to help, people who need me."

"Why are you so chatty now Blondie? You've said more words to me now than people have heard in months." She knows why though, it's for the same reason we haven't seen her in months. "Grief," Sophie takes a breath, "Is a hard thing to let go of, but the people who share it together...they know what it's like. We need to be here for each other."

"Wow, Bangs Boy is rubbing off on you." This sends Sophie into a fit of giggles, "Keefe really loved you, y'know. No matter how hard he wanted—tried—to tell you, he always thought you'd reject him. He read his fathers book a lot to see if it would help him, 'The Heart of the Matter', how in your head you felt something for someone, but how in the heart—hidden deep down we're feelings for another."

This surprises the blonde girl, but the Ogre gives a small smile and goes on. "He knew you liked him Sophie, and it killed him to leave. When he knocked me out and tied me up, it was written all over his face. He didn't want to leave, but it was the only way to keep every—you safe. Even though it killed him...Sophie, you liked Fitz with your head, but you loved Keefe in your heart."

"I...I—what?" Ro shakes her head, "Ever the oblivious. He loved you, you loved him, but you each hesitated in telling the other, and now it's too late. Take it from someone who knows Sophie, it was too late to fix Bo and my relationship, I had hoped it wouldn't be like this for you and Keefe, that's why I kept pushing it." Her and Bo?

"You care more about saving the world than saving yourself, Sophie Foster, and that's what is killing you." With that she jumps off the building and phase-shifts away leaving Sophie in a very conflicted position. "I really do hate it when people know things that I don't, only tell me parts, and want me to figure it out myself." She mutters.
