chapter 21

the next day was harry's tattoo appointment. louis is going with and he's kind of excited. he doesn't have tattoos himself but he finds them beautiful on harry.

"so what are you getting again?" louis asked as they drove to the tattoo shop

"um angel wings" harry said

"oh that's right" louis smiled "you said something about how none of the ones you have now mean something but the one you're getting soon is special"

harry smiled a little "i did"

"how come this one is so special but the others aren't?" louis asked

"because i finally found something to bring meaning to them" harry smiled and looked over at louis

"oh well then that's pretty special" louis said wondering what changed

they got to the tattoo shop five minutes later and walked in.

"ahhh harry! good to see you mate!" one of the tattoo artists said

"you too wally!" harry smiled

"so heard you're getting another angel tattoo today" wally said

"yep! i am" harry said

"what number is this now? like 50?" wally laughed as he cleaned and set up for the tattoo

"no this is i think maybe number 11" harry said

"ever thought of getting something different?" wally asked

"nope i like angels" harry smiled "but before you say that they don't mean anything, the one i'm getting today means everything to me"

"oh does it now?" wally smirked and looked at louis, probably just now noticing him "and who's this?"

"this" harry turned to louis with a smile "is my boyfriend louis, and the meaning of this tattoo so make it extra pretty like him wally"

louis looked at him surprised, nobody ever got a tattoo because of him, granted he's never had a boyfriend, but still. he smiled as harry grabbed his hand.

wally too was smiling while he looked at the couple "well harry where do you want it?"

"my hand" harry said walking over to wally and pointed to the spot between his index finger and thumb.

wally nodded and harry sat down. louis walked over and sat on a chair in the corner.

"do you need me to hold your hand" louis sarcastically asked when harry put his hand that wasn't getting tattooed out.

"yes darling, this is my first time" harry smirked

louis rolled his eyes but got up anyways and grabbed his hand.

"you're a dork" louis whispered to harry

"you love it" harry said

louis giggled and squeezed harry's hand as a way of saying 'yea i do'

wally drew the stencil and showed it to harry, it was angel wings with no halo. harry told wally to come closer and he leant further away from louis so he wouldn't hear what he was saying to wally.

wally nodded and added something else to the stencil.

"angel can you do me a favor?" harry asked sweetly

louis' heart swelled at the nickname even if he hears it all the time "depends" louis said

harry chuckled "i just don't want you to look while he's doing it, i want it to be a surprise"

"fine i'll close my eyes" louis said

"nope i don't trust that" harry said and reached into his hoodie pocket and took out a pink bandana, he handed it to louis "here put this over your eyes"

louis took it, looked at it, looked at harry "kinky" louis smiled

harry rolled his eyes with a smile "just put it on"

louis laughed and put it over his eyes. harry grabbed his hand again after he got it on.

"can you see anything?" harry asked

louis rolled his eyes even though harry couldn't see him do it "no, i think it's because i have this cloth over my eyes"

"whatever" harry laughed

wally put the stencil on harry's hand and got to work.

all louis could hear was the tattoo gun buzzing. but harry could see it go onto his skin.

wally finished about 20 minutes later, after some fading and touch ups "alright it's all done" he announced

"can i take this off?" louis asked

"yep" harry said

louis took it off and squinted his eyes due to not seeing the light for a while. he looked at harry and saw he was hiding his hand behind his back.

"well are you going to show me?" he asked, popping his hip out

harry chuckled "yes just close your eyes"

"again?" louis complained but closed his eyes anyways

harry took a deep breath and stepped closer to louis, he grabbed his hands and put his newly tattooed hand into both of louis' "you can open them now" harry whispered

louis opened one eye at a time and looked at harry, who motioned down to their hands.

louis looked down and smiled, on harry's hand was two angel wings that he saw before but added was a halo, and added underneath was the word 'ludovici' in cursive.

"what's it mean?" louis asked still looking at the tattoo

"louis" harry said

louis looked up "what?" he asked confused because harry didn't answer his question

"it means louis" harry said and smiled

"oh" louis said "what language?"

"latin" harry smiled "i was thinking of putting your name but then i realized maybe that will scare you off so i was going to do just an 'l' but then nobody will know it's you so i decided to put your name in latin"

"i think it's lovely" louis smiled

harry smiled back and brought louis in for a deep kiss.

wally left to the back to give the two a second.

when the kiss broke louis hugged harry "i love it"

harry smiled "i love it too"

after harry payed for the tattoo they went back to harry's flat to watch a bunch of movies.

they were snuggled up on the couch watching 'the notebook' when louis felt it.

he was too busy thinking about harry and him to watch the movie. and when he was playing the day back in his head he smiled and felt love. he realized he loved harry.

he didn't want to say anything just in case harry isn't ready for that yet. so he stayed quiet but was smiling into the blanket with harry beside him snoring away.

louis loved harry. and he sure hoped harry loved him back.
