"You're the worst you know that right?" I shove him as we walked to the exit. "I should go back to Pony. He'll worry about me." I turned to head back when Dal grabs my arm. "Come on Pegg, stay with me." He said genuinely. I crossed my arms. "Why? The redhead didn't give you enough attention?" I asked. "Don't do that Pegg. Come on, let's go get a beer or somethin." He suggested. "I'm not in the mood right now Dal." I shake my head. "Then what if we go over to your place? We can hang out for a while before I head to Buck's." I sighed before nodding. "Let's go Dal." I started to head home with him walking with me. It was silent before Dallas spoke. "So who was the blondie?" He asked. "I already told ya Dal. He's from Shepard's gang." I said. "Yeah I know that but who was he? Like why were you two talking?" I glanced over at him. The cold breeze made me shove my hands in my pockets and tense my shoulders. It was colder then I anticipated. "He recognized me so we started to talk." I realized something and looked over at Dal. "Were you jealous?" I asked. "Pfft! What?! No!" He scoffed. "I think you were! The way you put your arm around me and how you dragged me away from him. You were totally jealous." I smirked. "Why would I be? He's a pimp." He grumbled. "You don't even know him! You've seen him from being a greaser and whenever we run into the Shepard gang." I say. I could see him get a little upset and flustered. "Hey Dal, don't worry. We barely even talked. Plus I like your company better." I nudged him with my elbow. He glanced at me and chuckled. We passed a gas station and Dal stopped. "Hey mind if I stop in for a pack of cigarettes? I'm almost done with my last pack." He said pointing his thumb at the station. "Oh yeah go ahead." I nodded. "Got a few extra bucks?" He asked. I shook my head. "Sorry I blew all my cash on the popcorn and coke that I wasn't able to have because I gave it to Jake. Since you pulled me away from the drive in." I chuckled. "Yeah yeah be right back doll." He walks through the door of the gas station. He had never called me doll before. That was a first. It was always Peggy or Peg. Or even Margret when he wanted to bug me. I took a seat on the sidewalk. Tossing away the butt of my cigarette. A car pulls into the station. I assumed it was just another customer so I ignored it. Until the footsteps on the pavement made their way, to me. My eyes drifted upward to see five socs. Just when I thought this night was going good. I quickly got to my feet. "What are you doing all alone princess?" One of them asked with a smirk. The thick smell of liquor reached my nose. They all had been drinking. I could tell. I went to reach for my blade that's always in my leather jacket pocket. Which was now keeping Pony warm at the drive in. Shit. Before I could snap at them, another one steps forward. "Well why don't we give her some company." He reaches to grab me but I quickly slap his hands away. "Don't touch me." I hissed. I began to back up but my back hit the wall. I looked both to my left and to my right but they had me surrounded. "Oh! Feisty!" The same male walked to me again and I quickly punch him in the face. That's when all hell broke loose. They went from trying to prey on me to attacking me real fast. After being punched in the face, the guy charged at me and punched my stomach. Making me peel over and hold my stomach. "You bitch!" He slams my shoulders against the wall. I wanted to scream for Dallas but the one who pinned me against the wall punched me in the face. I feel blood run down from my nose. Then there was another hit to my stomach. Where the hell was Dallas! How long does it take him to buy some cigarettes. That's when a blade was handed to the male. "Let's see. We better teach you a lesson. Let's start with ruining those pretty lips of yours." He growled. He raised the blade up to my lower lip and began to put a deep cut into the edge of my lip. "DALLAS!" I yelled. Hoping it would help. "Shut her up!" One yelled. Two more males pinned my arms to the wall since I began to thrash around. "Hey!" Finally, Dal came running. He shoved the males away from me and threw a few punches before the socs run away. He instantly turns to me and rushed to me. "Peggy!" He takes off his jacket and puts it over my shoulders. I slipped my arms in the sleeves to warm me up. My head was splitting from being hit against the brick wall. I felt the blood dripping down my chin from the deep cut and from my nose. "We gotta get you home." He wraps his arm across my back and puts my arm around his shoulder as he pulls me home. My other arm wrapped around my stomach that was in so much pain.

We made it to my house and he helps me inside. Darry was on the couch and Soda was in the kitchen. Dal opens the door. "Guys! We have a problem!" He pulls me inside. Darry was instantly at his feet and Soda rushed to us. "What happened?!" Darry looked over at Dallas but pulls me into the kitchen as Dal spoke. "We stopped at a gas station on the way here and she stayed outside." He followed us into the kitchen. Darry quickly gets the rag and began to clean up the blood. Which was now on my shirt. But that I could easily clean up after years of practice. He began to wipe under my nose. I could tell Darry was angry. "Why didn't you go inside with him?" He mumbled. I glared at him for a moment before I winched as he started to wipe the blood from my lip. "Is this from a punch?" He asked. "No. They drew a blade on me." I said trying not to move my mouth as much. Soda and Dallas, who were watching Darry cleaning me up, but looked at each other angrily. "Who pulls a blade on a girl?!" Soda asked and crossed his arms. "A guy who gets punched in the face by said girl." I say. They all just look at me. "Now I really wanna know what happened." Darry said. I sighed. "After Dal went to get some cigarettes, I relaxed outside. A car drove up and five soc guys got out. Drunk socs. They tried to flirt with me and touch me but of course I wasn't having it. So I punch one in the face and the rest attacked me. Hitting my stomach, punching me and then cutting my lip. I screamed for Dallas and he fought them off." I explained. "Damn...." Dallas mumbled. "I'm sorry for not coming out sooner...I was talking with the clerk." I turned to Dallas. "It's alright Dal. It's not your fault."
