The rumble was the next night. Of course I wasn't able to go thanks to my burns I would be in the hospital for three days. Today was the first and it was going to get long. Luckily after breakfast Steve and Soda brought me my comics and a few books. I was so grateful. "Peggy" Steve rushed inside and hugs me tightly. "Hey Stevie!" I hugged him back. Luckily the pain was subsided so I could hug Steve tightly as he hugged me. "You're ok." He mumbled. He pulls away and Soda walks to me, handing me a stack of comics and a few actual books "Yay! Thanks for the books!"I take them and put the stack on my lap. "Three long days of bed rest will drive me crazy if I can't have Spider-Man and Captain America with me." I chuckled. "You're welcome Peggy." Soda said. "I wanted to drop them off before we head to the DX. I'll be back and probably with Darry and Pony." He sat on the bed. "How is everyone?" I asked. "Good. Me and Two-bit stopped by the house this morning." Steve said. "Johnny stayed over last night." Soda added. "Jeez that hair of Pony's. I didn't believe it until I saw it." I chuckled at Steve's answer. "We had some of that chocolate cake you made." My stress baking thanks to Pony and Johnny being missing. "It was really good. Well we should get going" they both hug me and Soda held on longer. "Darry said to hug you for him. He'll be back later. And Pony, Johnny, and Two-bit will be over to visit you and Dal." Soda pulls away and they both head to the door. "Bye!" I say before they leave for work. I pick up a captain America comic, reading it for a while before the nurse comes in with my lunch and meds. I'll be taking them to heal the burns. But as soon as I was done eating and taking my medicines, I continued to read. I was stopped when I see a figure in my door. My eyes drifted up to see a very shirtless Dallas. "H-hey" I stammer, closing my comic book. "Hey." He leans against the doorframe. "You aren't supposed to be out of bed are you?" I asked. I see a white bandage around his right forearm. He shook his head. "Nope. But it's the only way to see you." He stops leaning before walking over to the bed. "How are you feeling?" He asked sitting down. Seems like all he's been doing is worrying about how I am. Maybe he does feel something for me. "Good. Thanks to your quick thinking. If you hadn't taken off my leather jacket, my burns would have been major." I smiled. "Well go me." He chuckled and sits down. I smiled. "How did you get all these books?" He asked gesturing to the comic book on my lap and the stack on my bedside table. "Steve and Soda brought them this morning. He said Pony, Johnny and Two-bit are visiting today." I said. "You know the rumble's tonight." He said with that mischievous look on his face. "Dallas, no no no no no no. You are not going." I said. "Oh come on Peggy-" I interrupt him. "Dally you are in the hospital for burns, and unless you get released you aren't going." He smirked at my words. "Dallas." I can't help but laugh a little. "Dally I know what's going through that head of yours." I couldn't hold back the smile as he smiled at me. "Well I ain't missin it. We can sneak out of here together. Go kick some Soc ass." I chuckled and shook my head. "I think I'll pass." I say. "Come on Peggy! If those socs from the gas station are there, you can really show them who's boss." He wasn't going to give up on trying to convince me to go to the rumble. "Dally you know what it's like for a girl in rumbles. I'll have a target on my back." And I was stubborn enough to stay in the hospital. He sighs. He knew I was right. The last rumble we were apart of, I was beat to a pulp. If it wasn't for the rest of the gang pulling the three socs away from me I would probably be dead. I can fight one or two socs but not a huge group of them. "Alright. I'll just kick some ass for you." He said. "Unless you wanna-" "Dallas!" A nurse stopped outside the door and she walks inside with her hands on her hips. "What are you doing? Flirting with this poor girl? I'm sorry sweetheart." She said. "Come on Dally! And put on your robe!" She gestured to the door. "Don't worry miss I've been putting up with Dallas Winston for years now." I laughed. He gets off the bed and shoots me a wink. "I'm coming I'm coming" he follows the nurse out of my room. I feel my cheeks heat up before I go back to my comic book. I was able to keep myself from blushing the entire time Dal was in the room with me. He was shirtless after all so that didn't help. I had gotten used to all his flirting, or what I think is his flirting.
Not too long after Dal visited my room, Pony and Johnny and Two-bit arrived. They walk into my room while I was reading, of course. "Hey boys." I smiled and closed my book as Pony rushed to me. He pulls me into a hug and I hug back. They ask how I am and I say I feel better. "Have you seen Dallas?" Johnny asked. I nodded. "Yeah he stopped by after lunch. He wasn't aloud to but he did anyway." I chuckled. They all laughed with me. "We miss both of you Peggy. It's not the same without you in the gang." Johnny smiled. I smiled back at him. "That means a lot Johnny."
