Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Shut it off! It hurts my head! Oh the pain, oh the humanity!"

Rolling her eyes at her very tan, fit friend Mikey ignored her protests. "Oh Ari shut up! For goodness sake it's just the alarm for school."

"Exactly! I'm too tired for school today, i'll go next time instead." Ari groaned dramatically.

If Ari had opened her eyes she would have seen the huge smirk appear on her best friends face; the same mischievous smirk she got just before she did something.

"Ya lets see how that sounds with your mum shall we? Martha, Ari said she isn't going...." Ari cut off her friend quickly by covering her mouth.

"She's just kidding mum I'm up! what are you trying to do Mikey get me in trouble?" She hissed quietly at her obnoxious best friend.

Mikey laughed while stretching, about to get up. "Then get up lazy bones it's time for another day of school. By the way, Martha said if I'm ready before you I get to drive your car; so let's see who's gonna drive today shall we."

"Hey! Not fair Mikey, no running down the stairs!" knowing Mikey had already gotten dressed before she woke her up Ari ran to her dresser and hurriedly put on clothes before rushing down the stairs.

"Hurry and eat your breakfast girls you are already running behind." Mikey had been there first and was halfway through her breakfast while Ari had just started. "So who gets to drive today?" Martha asked, knowing there was no way Ari was gonna share her car no matter who won.

"Me!" Both girls said in unison and started laughing as soon as they realized it.

"Martha laughed, well try to eat your breakfast at a normal speed, wouldn't want you to get sick by stuffing..." She trailed off watching the girls amusedly.

"Num num num, foods all gone! Bye mum." Somehow Ari had finished first even though she was downstairs last, and headed for the door, determined to beat Mikey.

"Hey! Wait for me! Bye Martha!" Mikey said already halfway through the door holding onto the possibility that she still had a chance to drive.

"Why do I even try?." Martha laughed so proud of her daughter and the other beautiful girl she called her own.

Ari started up the dark blue corvette as Mikey ran back upstairs to Ari's room to grab Ari's bag, as always she had forgotten it and since she was driving Mikey went to get it. Ari started going as soon as Mikey got in the car and turned to her friend hoping that she would get the answer she wanted. "You think you could stay the night again tonight Mikey?"

Mikey's signature look appeared on her face as she jokingly said "so you don't forget your homework tomorrow? I'm not sure, you know my parents don't like me staying anywhere on school nights but since they're  both taking a break from me in Las Vegas they probably don't even realize what day it is and won't be back tonight as planned."

You could see the look of understanding cross Ari's face, but also the excited look that meant there was still a chance that Mikey could stay. "Ya that's true, you know I'm surprised they don't just leave you at your house for a few days, I mean you are seventeen."

"Ha! Ya like that is gonna happen. They don't even let me pick out my own socks in the morning. I'm almost eighteen by the way, only four more days!" Mikey squealed grinning.

"I'm glad mine aren't that strict but ya I catch your drift. How could I forget!" Ari laughed, that is so exciting that you're almost an Adult! Plus that means you're done with your therapy!" Ari said happy for her best friend.
