Chapter 13: Secrets

The sound of breaking glass was heard once again from the empty room at the end of the hall.

"Ugh!" Mikey grumbled. "This is..."

"Too hard?" Kevin finished for her. "How many times do I have to tell you? You have an amazing amount of power inside of you, you only need to bring it out! I just know you can do it." He finished, smiling warmly as he took her hand.

"You're just saying that because Nina told you you had to get me to use my powers." Mikey let slip from her mouth.

"I am not! Listen Mikey I want you to learn for yourself, i'd rather you be able to protect yourself even if I could never see you again."

Mikey turned her face away from him suddenly very ashamed of herself. "Hey hey it's alright dear." Kevin said smiling as he noticed the sad look upon her face. He took her shoulders and turned her around "hey, cheer up buttercup. I'm not going anywhere."

Mikey looked up at his beautiful blue eyes and adorable dimples and couldn't help but smile at him. "You promise?"

Instead of responding he simply winked at her, then took his hand and gently placed it under her chin. "This is it." She thought as her stomach filled with overflowing happiness about something that hadn't yet happened. Kevin lifted up her chin and put his lips up right next to hers. But instead of kissing her, as they were both hoping, he simply spoke. But those six words were the words she was now ready to hear. "Mikey I can't wait any longer to ask you. Will you give me the greatest honor any man could ever have and go out with me?"

Mikey could hardly breath. Her lips were still so close to Kevin's that when he spoke there lips touched ever so slightly. It felt wonderful but it was also a little hard to understand what he was saying. But those few words were as clear as a bell. "Yes, yes of course!" She finally answered after she felt him pull away and saw on his face that he'd realized she hadn't actually said anything yet and grew worried.

No sooner had she said yes then he pulled her closer again, only this time it was even closer then before. This time there lips connected and they just stood there and kissed for what seemed like hours, until they could breath no more and had to stop so they could continue to live. As soon as Mikey had opened her eyes she shut them again.

Kevin laughed as he looked around. "Open your eyes Mikey." He ordered as he noticed her eyes were still closed.

"I already know, I did it again." She said sounding a little aggravated at herself.

Kevin sighed, obviously annoyed.'The whole point is you need to learn to control your powers. We just learned you can control them two ways, by being angry and by being happy, and yet you act as though you're upset about it. Nina needs you to be able to use your powers babe."

"Why does she need me!? She can use Tiff and Trish and Henry and even you and Ari! So why on earth does she need me? My powers aren't that amazing, and i am really not important enough for all this fuss."

"You might not be to you." Kevin said sweetly as he stood once again close enough to her she could hardly breath. "But to me." He continued. "To me you are everything, i wouldn't want anyone else in my life but you, my amazing, talented, gifted, and beautiful girlfriend in every way." Kevin just stood there smiling at her for a few minutes.

"What is it?" She finally asked.

"I was just thinking I can finally call you mine! I don't have to be worried anymore if you really like me or not and believe me I already had enough to worry me."

Mikey smiled too. "You know why i'm smiling?" She asked.

"Well of course I hope it's something about me but why don't you just tell me?"
