Chapter 10: Training

Crash! "Oh no! I'm so so sorry!"

"It's ok sweetheart." Nina said amusedly as Mikey broke another plate. "They're just plates we have plenty it will be ok."

"Why don't you start with some leaves?" Ari suggested.

"It wouldn't matter what it was I can't do it!" Mikey said annoyed. "I've tried and tried and I just can't, I'm done!" Mikey stormed out of the room leaving her Grandma, Ari, and Kevin behind.

After a long pause and awkward looks at each other Kevin started walking out the door Mikey had just left through. Calling back to Nina and Ari he said "i'll go talk to her and see if she's ok."

"Mikey?" Kevin said not shouting but louder then his normal inside voice. Seeing a door slightly open he headed for it. Mikey and Ari and everyone else's rooms were in the direction he was going so he figured the door slightly open was her room. "Mikey?" He said once again, quieter this time, as he reached the room. "Hey, there you are." He said smiling sweetly as he saw Mikey sitting on her bed. "You alright?"

"What do you think?" Mikey said, clearly annoyed as she turned her back to him. Without giving him time to reply to the rhetorical question she asked "what do you want anyway?"

"Well," he said mischievously as he sat down next to her on the bed, "I came to check on you."

"I'm fine! I said I'm done because I can't do it, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with me!"

"I agree," he said smiling.

"Hey!" Mikey said as she playfully hit his shoulder. "You're not suppose to agree that I can't do it."

"Ouch!" He said while laughing acting as though her small punch had seriously hurt him. "I didn't mean it like that, I meant to agree that there's nothing wrong with you. I think you're fine just the way you are."

That made Mikey turn and face him which accidentally knocked them both off balance, since they were sitting on the very edge of the bed, and they fell off. Kevin fell first and then Mikey went toppling off the bed with him. "Ugh" Mikey said landing right on top of Kevin.

"I am so sorry!" Mikey said as her face flushed red. Realizing her and Kevin were the only two in the room and were lying on top of each other her face grew even more red. Quickly she got off of him and tried to help him up. But since he was stronger then she was Kevin accidentally tipped Mikey towards the bed they had just fallen off of and he landed on her.

"Sorry about that" he said laughing while still laying on top of her. "I better get up, wouldn't want your Grandma to think we were doing something." Kevin laughed and helped Mikey up. "I'm stronger than I look."

"Ya I gathered that." Mikey responded, her face was still as red as a ripe strawberry.

Kevin's amused look showed that he knew Mikey was embarrassed. "It's ok." He said as he laughed.

Laughing awkwardly Mikey smiled at him. "So I guess I'll keep trying to work on using my powers." She said trying to change the subject so her face would cool down.

"That's the whole reason I came here" he answered. "Sounds like a plan to me."

"Alright good. Maybe you could help me instead of Nina some?"

"If that's what you want then sure I can. I'll let you go I have some things I have to do. If you need anything you know where to find me." He said laughing while motioning to the building they were in. "I'm always here now."

"Alright thanks" Mikey said smiling as she watched Kevin walk out the door.

"How was she?" Nina asked as Kevin walked through the door to the secret kitchen Mikey and Ari had seen earlier.
