"Guess what?!" Hueningkai, the youngest of the friend group screeched as he ran towards Soobin's lunch table. He was always the loudest of the four with Beomgyu being a close second. Despite Taehyun and Soobin being introverts and Beomgyu and Hyuka being total extroverts, they got along well. They respected each other's boundaries (sometimes) and met in odd ways, but we'll get to that later.

Taehyun took a sip of his almond milk, raising a perfect eyebrow at him. Impatient, as nobody responded back excitedly, Hueningkai finally voiced the exciting thing that happened to him.

"I'm no longer single!"

Beomgyu fell off his seat, Taehyun sat there awestruck and Soobin started to choke on his sandwich. Taehyun quickly helped Soobin cough up the piece of turkey sandwich to which all three trained their eyes on Hueningkai. Usually when the youngest excitedly came over screaming at the top of his lungs, it was about something trivial. Maybe a new plushie, he met a new friend, stuff like that. But getting a girlfriend? Never.

Beomgyu broke out into a grin and slapped Hueningkai's back, causing him to glare at Beomgyu. The only response was a shrug and Soobin sat there sad and numb. Sure, Soobin was happy but...

"Congrats..." Soobin mumbled while Taehyun and Beomgyu were hyping Hueningkai up for his new partner.

Of course, Soobin was happy for Hueningkai. Soobin was happy for all his friends that got a girlfriend or boyfriend, the problem was; Soobin was the only one without a partner now. Hell, Soobin never even dated before yet. He had a few crushes here and there, but he was too much of a wimp to actually confess. When his crushes did manage to find out by his noisy friends, he was harshly rejected.

Taehyun was still in a long distance relationship with a cute girl from middle school. Beomgyu was dating a hot biker guy he met while ordering coffee at a nearby cafe, and now Hueningkai was dating as well. Even so, all of his other friends from outside of his main friend group had partners as well—they even had past relationships. But Soobin? Not a single relationship, and he was in his Junior year of highschool. On top of that, the boys outnumbered girls in the school, and he was straight.

"So, who's the lucky girl?" Taehyun asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

Beomgyu quickly shut him down. "Or guy, because men are hot too!"

Hueningkai smirked and shook his head at both their answers. "Neither, they're non-binary."

Soobin sulked. Damn, Soobin was unable to attract not just boys and girls, but even non-binary people. A sigh escaped his mouth as Soobin tried to drown out the conversation in front of him by focusing all his attention into his sandwich. Man, he used his favorite sandwich bread just to have his meal ruined. While the trio continued to gossip about Hueningkai's love life, Taehyun suddenly smirked and nudged Soobin's side.

"Looks like someone is sad because they're the only single person now," Taehyun teased causing Hueningkai to snort.

"Yeah, Soobin!" Hueningkai started to join in on the teasing. "I'm younger than you and I've had three relationships while you've had none."

 Beomgyu hugged Soobin's side as he was sulking and flicked Taehyun's forehead. "Shush you both, Soobin will have a partner someday."

"Someday," Taehyun mocked Beomgyu. Soobin scowled and pushed Beomgyu away, tired of their antics. He suddenly put a smug look on his face, glaring at all three of them.

"Jokes on you, I have a girlfriend."

 The whole table went silent, until Beomgyu started to scream at him.
