Chapter 4: Responsibilities

[Y/N POV]

The dorm was unusually quiet when I opened my eyes this morning. This surprised me especially since I saw Akko as quite chatty and energetic, so to not hear her voice puzzled me a little. I sit up to see that the curtains were open and the daylight was beaming through.

Y/N: Have they gone?

I look around and the room was empty. Akko's bed looked in a bit of a state so I guessed they must have had to rush off to lesson this morning.

Y/N: Ok they have.

That was good. I didn't have to worry about leaving the room to allow them to get changed then. I sit up and stretch my arms and legs out.

Y/N: That actually feels a lot better!

I go to stand up but my legs buckle and I fall back onto the floor. Moments later the door swings open and I look up to see a very worried looking Ursula standing in the doorway.

Ursula: Goodness me! Are you ok?

I nod my head and try to stand up but Ursula came over and helped me up onto Akko's bed so I could sit down.

Ursula: Sorry that you had to sleep on the floor. It's all we can do for the moment because of money. But hopefully we should be able to get you you're own room eventually.

My own room did sound nice but I really liked the company. But I knew I couldn't be selfish. Those three might be ok with me now but in the future they might change their minds.

Ursula: You hungry? I brought you some cereal if you want it.

She walks out of the room and comes back in with a tray which had the cereal she was talking about. She hands it over to me and I smile at her.

Y/N: Th-thank you. I-I a-appreciate it.

I immediately start to eat the cereal and in a flash it was all gone.

Ursula: Ahaha. I guess I should've brought more with me.

Y/N: I-it's ok. I-it w-was enough.

Ursula: Good but make sure to ask if you want more.

I nod my head.

Ursula: Now you should get changed into some fresh clothes. Don't worry I've got some here for you. Then we are going to see if we can get to know more about you.

Y/N: O-ok.

Ursula hands me the pile of clothes and leaves the room so I could change into them. The hoodie I was given was a little too big for me but it was comfortable. I look at myself in the mirror and smiled. I felt happy again!

I open the door and walk out to see Ursula with a big smile on her face.

Ursula: I'm glad they fit you! Well the hoodie looks a little big but it'll do!

I nod my head and we begin to walk. My legs were now feeling a little less stiff than before and I could now walk in a straight line. Although I would get the little sudden jolt of pain every now and again.

Once we arrive at the headmistresses office, she greets me with a smile and she walks over to me.

Holbrooke: It's fantastic to see you up on your feet. I am Miranda Holbrooke and you are?

Y/N: Y-Y/N ma'am.

Holbrooke: Such good manners! Perhaps you will fit right in after all! Please sit.

She gestures for me to sit on one of the chairs which I do. Ursula sits next to me and I turn to face the headmistress.

Holbrooke: Ok we'll get straight to it. Can you please tell us how on Earth you managed to get into that forest without a broom?
