Chapter 10: A Party?

[Y/N POV]

Akko: So you're gonna be watching this lesson?

I was walking with my roommates to their lesson. The headmistress told me yesterday that I would pretty much be a spectator.

Y/N: Y-yeah j-just t-to get a feel of it.

Lotte: And it is our metamorphosis magic examination today. It would be unfair for Y/N to take part when he has little experience.

Sucy: Well if Akko can, then surely he can. It's not like he would be any worse.

Akko was going to retort but I pushed her back and shook my head.

Y/N: I-it a-ain't worth it Akko. J-just don't listen.

Akko backs off but narrows her eyes at Sucy as we continue to walk and soon got to the lesson. Everyone else was already there, but I was sure that we weren't too late.

Badcock: Ok now that we are all present. We can begin. You are of course just watching Y/N and your examination will be organised for a later date.

I nod my head and stand off to the side. What I didn't realise was who I stood with.

Hannah: Hi Y/N!

I turn to my side and see Hannah smiling at me.

Y/N: O-oh hi!

She giggles and moves herself closer to me.

Hannah: I reckon you'll ace the exam!

Y/N: Y-you d-do?

Hannah: Of course you will! Once you get the hang of it then it'll be easy!

I really hoped that she was right. I look over at Diana who nods her head at me and then at Barbara who smiled at me.

Badcock: Ok, first up. Please step forward Miss Cavendish.

Diana was the first to step up.

Hannah: This will be a good start. If you want to learn from the best, then I'd pay close attention!

I nod my head. I knew what I was expecting when Diana was called up. And I wasn't disappointed.

Diana: Metamorphie Facissse!

She casts the spell and the rat in the cage turns into a beautiful white horse. I couldn't help but clap like the rest of the room. It really was impressive!

Badcock: Very impressive Miss Cavendish! Exactly what I would expect from the star student of Luna Nova!

One by one I watched everyone step up to show their skills.

Hannah: Wish me luck!

I smile and nod my head at Hannah as she steps up. One thing I did notice was that Akko was looking really nervous the whole time.

Hannah: Alright! See! Your wishes granted me good luck!

I look back at Hannah who had walked back over and she had a huge smile on her face.

Y/N: I-I'm s-sure you would have d-done g-great regardless!

She giggles and hugs my arm.

Hannah: Thank you!

I look around and see that many of the girls in the room were looking at us with looks of jealousy. They didn't need to be! All of us could be friends!

Badcock: Last up, Miss Kagari!

Akko nervously steps up and looks over at me as I give her a reassuring smile and a thumbs up. She returns it and turns back around seemingly full of confidence.
