I hope she knows

I hope she knows I am the reason you take her to that pond
I am the reason your bookshelf fills of books
I am the reason you are not broken anymore
I told those jokes you tell her now
I am the reason you cuddle in that spot that we fought over

I hope you know

I hope you know she won't make you float at three simple words
I hope you know that her hand will never place against yours like mine
I hope you know that she will not argue over the corner and tickle each other until the other moves
I hope you know that she is not me
She will never be me
Nor will she compare whatsoever
Because she is not me or anything close
I am me
And I would never be me if it wasn't for your leaving
