Mina's Crush

Mina's POV (Surprising I know. This isn't actually a main chapter, I just wanted to add this because Kirishima needed to know if Mina liked Bakugo or not.)

I laid on my stomach on my bed, casually scrolling through TikToks on my phone. This wasn't anything new; I did this almost every morning, whether it was before school or during the weekend.

I didn't usually go home to my parents. I loved them and texted them almost every day, but the Bakusquad typically stayed at the dorms, so that's where I stayed, too.

A text notification popped up on my screen, and I rolled over onto my back, reading what Kiri had to say.

K: can we talk

My eyebrows furrowed. Did he mean, like, a girl talk? Or a serious talk?

I shrugged. M: sure where r u

K: I'm coming up the elevator rn i'll cya in a few

M: kk

I set my phone down and sat up so I could talk to Kiri face-to-face. There was a knock on my door and I said, "It's unlocked, Kiri!"

He was always so polite.

He opened the door, seeming out of breath. His face was flushed from being out in the cool wind, and his hair was...

Was it wet?

"Hey," he said, closing the door and dropping his stuff onto my bed and flopping down.

I didn't mind; all of us in the Bakusquad were like a family.

"Hi," I said back, smiling. "What did you need to talk about?"

His voice lowered as he spoke. "I wanted to know who you like."

I blinked, my heart rate rising. Why was he asking?

"And... why do you wanna know?" I asked, flicking my horns a few times out of nervousness.

"Well, Jiro told me it was someone in the Bakusquad, and now I'm curious." He paused and tilted his head a little. "Is it Bakugo?"

I burst out laughing. He just sat there, looking startled and confused.

"First off," I giggled. "Why in the freaking heck would I like him? I mean, I love him like family, but I love everyone in our group like family. I'm not singling him out."

He breathed out in relief. "That's good."

I raised an eyebrow and leaned over him. "And why's that?"

His face flushed, but this time, not from the cold.

"No reason," he stated. "So who is your..." His voice turned to a whisper. "Your crush?"

Self consciously, I glanced down at the letter on my wrist. It was an H. Kiri saw me looked down and I saw him glance down at his, too.

"It's an H," I told him.

He blinked, his eyes wide. "Huh!?"

In our society, telling people what the letter on your wrist was wasn't a good thing. Sometimes, people would go and tell a ton of people, and having people know was the ultimate punishment.

Only about 5% of people are born without a soulmate. If more than 50 people know the letter on your wrist, your letter will slowly fade away, and you will be soulless.

"It's fine if you don't wanna tell me yours, but I trust you," I said, smiling and putting my arm down.

"Now you're just avoiding the subject," he whined, like a little kid. "Mina, who's your crush?"

I leaned over him, cupped my hands around my mouth, and whispered, "I like Sero."

His mouth fell opened and he grinned, twerking his eyebrows. "Ooh~"

I slapped him playfully as I blushed a little. "Shut up!"

"Does he know?"

"Why would he? It's not like he would ever like me anyways," I said sadly, sitting back and crossing my legs. "He's not into soulmates, but he just wants to be friends."

Kirishima's phone started ringing, and he picked it up and answered it. His face immediately changed and he sat up, looking a bit distressed.

"Uh, yes ma'am, I'll be there in about 20 minutes," he said, standing up and hanging up on the phone.

"Who was that?" I asked as he opened my door.

"I-it was someone from the hospital," he said. "Its 'cause of Bakugo. I'll see you later, Mina."

With that, he simply left my room.

I frowned a little. So Bakugo was at the hospital? Usually, Bakugo didn't like us being there with him, but if he allowed Kirishima to be there while he was potentially hurt...

I laid back down with a small smile replacing my frown. My ship had sailed.
