Bakugo's POV
"For the last time, Kiri, I forgive you—" I said, rubbing his back gently even though my arm was beginning to hurt.
He had been extremely upset ever since I had forgiven him the first time, and his crying still hadn't ceased.
He hadn't eaten his dinner, so I put it away for him because I knew he wouldn't eat it until tomorrow.
Currently, we were sitting on the dark on the couch in the commons area. He had wrapped his trembling arms and legs around me and didn't want to let go. I was sitting criss-cross, facing him, while trying to get him to stop crying.
Initially, I was exhausted. But as time lapsed and his crying still hadn't stopped, I started to get worried.
With a small sigh, I pried him away from me, which he looked very upset about. I cupped his face and yanked him up so we were looking eye-to-eye.
His face was blotchy and his eyes were a bright red from all his crying. His lips were trembling and my heart shattered at the sight.
"What did I do?" I whispered.
"Y-you didn't do anything—"
"Well, obviously I did something," I said. "You've been crying for like an hour straight."
He just sniffed and wiped his eyes.
I pressed my forehead to his and closed my eyes. "I hate seeing you like this... where'd my happy Kiri go...?"
He leaned forwards and pressed his wet lips to mine. I kissed him back for a few seconds before I pulled back and gave him a sad look.
"Can you walk? I think it'd be easier to go to sleep in an actual bed..."
He didn't respond, so I simply picked him up bridal style and started for the stairs. He buried his face into my neck as I carried him up the stairs.
What did I do to make him so sad? Did he not want me to forgive him for punching me?
I took him to my room and set him down, closing the door and grabbing his hand before leading him into the bathroom.
"Drink some water, I'm going to go put my hearing aids in," I told him, before leaving the room to find the charging box for my hearing aids.
I fumbled with them for a moment before sliding them into my ears, relieved as the faint sound of water running from my sink filled my ears.
I walked back into the bathroom and saw him staring blankly at his reflection, holding the glass cup of water in his trembling hand.
I took the water from him and softly cupped his cheek, turning his attention towards me. A soft whine filled my ears and I frowned a little.
"Hey, it's okay..." I held out the water for him to take. "As soon as you drink some of this, we can go to bed. Okay?"
I had never seen someone drink water so fast. He downed the entire glass in less than 5 seconds and then set it back down on the counter.
I took his hand again and led him over to the bed, where we both laid down and I put my arms around him. He immediately buried his face into my chest and a small whimper escaped his mouth.
Had he been making those sounds this entire time? If so, I almost wanted to take my hearing aids out again. Those sounds broke my heart to hear.
"Do you wanna tell me what's wrong?" I asked quietly, combing through his hair with my fingers. "It's perfectly fine if you don't want to, either."
