A/N: Hey everyone! Another week, another chapter. I haven't actually got that much to say today. Again.
So, I hope you all enjoy the 'new' chapter.
If there's any errors or whatever, let me know in the comments. Quite prone to leaving errors in xDSeveral hours later, the group of four were awake and eating breakfast in the dining hall. They ate in silence, the occasional clinking of cutlery on plates or bowls the only sound in the large room.
Ruby was the first to finish with Yang coming in close behind her. The young Reaper said nothing as she stood and walked out of the dining hall, going straight to her current bedroom.
Yang also stood, meaningfully looking at Blake before following her cousin as quietly as possible. The blonde had noticed Ruby's behaviour change from the last few days and wanted to know what was going on, plus she still needed to chat with her about their past.
May as well kill two birds with one stone.
As the blonde left the dining hall, Winter's scroll began to ring and she too left the table, going straight to her new office.
That only left Blake to finish her tuna and then go back to reading one of her favourite books. She wasn't too bothered that everyone had left her alone, it just meant some much needed peace and quiet.
In the meantime, Yang had followed Ruby all the way to her room and was currently peaking through the small gap in the doorway. She watched as the young faunus stopped for a moment, her ears twitching as though she was listening out for anyone before kneeling on the floor by the bed. She took what looked to be a book out from under it then stood up and headed for the desk to read it.
The blonde had seen enough and decided now was the time to get some answers. She knocked on the door twice and waited while the young Reaper stuffed the book into a drawer.
"Come in." She said, not giving anything away.
"Hey, Ruby." Yang greeted as she walked into the room.
"Oh, hey Yang." Surprise was evident on her face but was soon replaced with a neutral expression.
"What's up?"
"I was wondering, could we talk?" Yang asked, sitting on the edge of Ruby's bed.
"We're talking now aren't we?" Came the sarcastic reply.
"Oh ha ha. I meant, can we talk about us? Our childhood. I... still don't really remember you. Like I have flashes sometimes, but those aren't nearly enough to piece everything together. You're the only one I don't remember much of. Weiss and Blake, my memories are as clear as day but with you, they're blurred and fuzzy and so damned confusing." Yang explained, gesturing to her head, to Ruby, and outside the room, presumably to where Blake and Weiss were in the Manor.
"Oh. Right. Yeah, we could talk. Or we could go somewhere and have fun for once? Maybe kill a Grimm or two, or even have a snowball fight like we used to." Ruby suggested, wanting to help her cousin but not wanting to talk things through.
Yang thought about it for a moment, wondering if it was worth the risk or not. Fun activities with Ruby could help to bring back the necessary memories, make them clearer even. But what if they were attacked by Grimm they couldn't defeat? What if one of them got hurt and couldn't call for help?
Those were certainly terrifying risks but maybe they were worth it, especially if she did end up remembering things about Ruby.
"Sure. Where should we go for this fun? The forest?" Yang said, finally coming to a decision.
"Yep. Just let me get dressed. Winter had some clothes custom made for me. Similar to what I had a while ago but better. Plus, I have a new half mask to cover the veins up." The young Reaper replied, getting up from her seat and walking towards the overly large wardrobe.
