"Rodney?" Ezra asked.
"Well, he'd prefer his full name," Doofenshmirtz said, "Aloyse Everheart Elizabeth Otto Wolfgang Hypatia Gunther Galen Gary Cooper von Roddenstein."
"So... Rodney," Hera said, "could be the one creating Heartless?"
"Well, a while back he tried destroying Summer and turning the League Of Villainous Evildoers Maniacally United For Frightening Investments in Naughtiness from a club of evil scientists into a group of supervillains, so it's no stretch to assume he's trying to weaponize darkness. And if what that young lady said is true," he said referring to Sabine, "then he could be the one creating Heartless."
"The League... of..." Zeb said.
"Just call it L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N."
Everyone except Perry and Doofenshmirtz began snickering.
"So... so L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. was going to plunge the world into Darkness?" Zeb asked.
"Not to darkness, per se, just into a new ice age."
"Still, Rodney could be trouble," Kanan said, "Let's pay him a visit."
Everyone turned to leave, but Doofenshmirtz piped up before they got too far.
"Hey, do you mind if I scan one of your keyblades so I can be helpful?" He asked.
Everyone stopped and looked at each other. Ezra rolled his eyes and summoned his keyblade. Doofenshmirtz rummaged through a few items and pulled out a device that had an antenna on it. A flat light blue beam went up and down on the keyblade. He took the device and connected a cable between it and a device that looked like a gun. A couple seconds later and he unplugged the device and left it.
"Okay," he said, "I'm ready."
"What's that?" Ezra asked.
"Well, it was my bioluminescence-inator, now it's my Heartless-vanquisher-inator."
The wielders all exchanged bewildered expressions. Perry chattered something.
"I don't think you'll be able to do much against the Heartless," Doofenshmirtz said, "you don't even have a weapon."
Perry looked indignantly at him.
"Well, then again, you do always thwart my plans without weapons... and your unusually strong for your size... alright, fine. You can help us."
Perry walked up to the group and they all headed down to the ground floor.
"Lead the way, Doofenshmirtz," Hera said.
"Okay," he replied, "oh, and if you could call me Doof or Dr. D, I wouldn't mind."
Doof lead them a couple blocks away. On the journey, a couple Heartless would appear, but all seven would make short work of them. They finally reached their destination: a dilapidated storage facility. Doof slowly opened the door.
"Hello," he called inside, "Rodney? Are you home?"
No answer for a couple seconds. They then heard a strange hum. Once it stopped, three Heartless appeared in the middle of the group. Kanan slashed one, Sabine stabbed the second, and Ezra threw his keyblade at the third.
"Guess he's here," Doof said after watching them destroy the Heartless.
They all quietly entered. They saw a room near the center of the building. There was a window and a door on the wall facing them. They silently hurried to the room. Inside they heard that two people were in the middle of an exchange.
"... certainly these Heartless aren't that terribly hard to control," said a voice only Perry and Doof recognized.
"Rodney." Doof mouthed to the group.
"Many have tried to control the Heartless," said a voice the wielders recognized, "but they only respond to those with power and darkness. You have only the darkness."
"Nonsense! I have more power than all of O.W.C.A." Rodney responded, "They will fall on their knees and serve me when the Heartless storm their headquarters."
Kanan kicked in the door and all seven rushed in. Rodney was immediately startled. Next to him was the figure in a white cloak.
"So you have come here as well," it said to them, "I had a suspicion you would."
Ezra cast blizzard at it. It raised an arm and black fire shot out of it hitting the blizzard spell.
"Now, now," it said, "let's not be hasty. You are not strong enough to face me. None of you are."
"Yeah huh," Doof said, "whatever."
He fired his inator at it. It deflected off of an invisible barrier into a machine in the middle of the room.
"NO!" Rodney screamed, "MY DARK-WEAPONIZER!!!"
"Yes," the thing said, "despair. Allow your heart to sink into deeper Darkness."
A dark cloud began slowly pulsing from him. The thing touched Rodney's shoulder and he was enveloped in a dark bubble. He began screaming in anger, pain, despair.
"Adieu," the thing said as a dark corridor enveloped it.
Out of the dark bubble, a large metallic spike with a couple joints inlaid in it emerged. A blade emerged from the opposite side of the leg that split into five more blades. Under the blades, another spike emerged, also with joints inlaid. Opposite it, a pole with an orb over a pair of disks on it emerged. The bubble shrank down revealing a silver pyramid with yellow eyes on the side facing the group. From a mouth underneath it, it roared.
"Uh," Doof said, "anyone wanna fill me in on that?"
"I think the thing used Rodney's darkness to create that Heartless," Kanan said.
The orb on the Heartless began glowing white. Lightning began lancing down from the sky.
This is a weird place to stop it, but I don't want to keep the whole 3 readers waiting.
Next part coming soon.
