The G.H.O.S.T. turned around and flew away from the five radiant worlds. As the ship journeyed away from the worlds, Ezra and Sabine were in somewhat deep conversation with Kanan and Zeb, with Hera listening every now and then.
"... and now we're on far better terms," Ezra said, "I mean, come on, did you see how well we were working together at Eternity's Requiem?"
"It is impressive," Zeb said, "but, Sabine, you seriously didn't know we were keeping you and him?"
"Well," Sabine said, "I heard Yen Sid say he was going to find another keyblade wielder and I assumed--"
"You didn't hear me say we wanted a third keyblade?" Kanan asked.
"... no."
Kanan chuckled a little. "No wonder you were so pissed at him."
Everyone began chuckling. Even Sabine. It wasn't long until they reached the Mysterious Tower once more. They all gathered where Yen Sid was, behind his desk.
"Ah," he said when they arrived, "I see your travels have done much good, and five worlds are protected from a massive wave of darkness."
"Yes, master," Kanan said, "something came up during our travels to the worlds. We kept having run ins with a being in a white coat who called himself 'Sheev.'"
He showed him a picture of Sheev that was somehow captured during their fight.
"I see. In the recesses of my memory, there was an encounter with someone who bore a strong semblance with Sheev. He fought two keyblade wielders."
"Where are they?"
"Unfortunately, they are no more."
Ezra looked mildly uncomfortable. Before anyone could ask him or Yen Sid anymore, Yen Sid spoke up.
"Worlds will call for you in the future. For now, rest up. Return to your homes and I will let you know when you will be called again."
"We all live in separate worlds," Sabine said, "how will we know at the same time?"
"I thought one of you would ask that. So Chip and Dale created these for you."
He waved his hand and five gummi phones with different color schemes appeared. Hera took one that was green, Zeb took a brown and purple one, Kanan a yellow and brown one, Sabine a purple and yellow one, and Ezra an orange one. They all stood at attention before they all left. Once they returned to the G.H.O.S.T. they had to decide where to go first.
"So, Ezra," Kanan said, "you said you're from Twilight Town. Where are you from Sabine?"
"A world known simply as Haven," she said, "it was founded not that long after the Keyblade War. When someone leaves Haven, they don't typically come or go back."
"If..." Ezra said, hesitantly, "if you're fine with it... you could... come... with..."
"Join you in Twilight Town?"
"If you want."
She agreed to join him. They got to Twilight Town quickly. Hera, Kanan, and Zeb joined Ezra and Sabine at the clock tower. They entered and went to the train after giving the munny to the ticket taker. As they went to Sunset Hill, where Ezra lived, Ezra glanced at Sabine. She was staring out the window, looking at the sun that was setting. The light shined off her eyes and the lighting itself gave Ezra a realization: she was beautiful. Was... was he developing a crush on her? She turned to him, noticing he was blushing slightly.
"You alright?" Sabine asked.
"Huh?" Ezra came back to himself, "Oh, uh... yeah. Yeah. I'm... I'm fine."
The train came to a stop at Sunset Hill. The five exited and followed Ezra. They came to a building near an alley. Ezra led Sabine to the top of the building. Kanan, Hera, and Zeb left for the G.H.O.S.T. sure they would be fine. Ezra and Sabine came to a door. Ezra was about to grab something from his pocket when he decided to summon his keyblade and tap the lock with it. He then opened the door and he and Sabine went in.
"Hello?" Sabine asked, "Mister and Missus Ezra's parents?"
"There's no one here," he respond, "There hasn't been anyone other than me here for the past seven years."
"What?"
"I live here alone."
"For seven years? You look like you're only--"
"Fifteen? That's because I am."
"Did your parents abandon you?"
"In a way." He motioned for Sabine to sit. This story would take a while. "I was eight. For the past couple years, we had a routine: drop me off at school, they'd go somewhere for work, they'd pick me up after school ended, I would do homework, they'd go off to do something else, come back for dinner, we'd play games or something for about three hours, and then I'd go to bed."
He took a deep breath. "Then one day, they dropped me off. And they didn't come to pick me up. It took me half a week to find out what happened."
He walked over to a small desk and pulled a drawer open. Inside it was a letter. He began reading only a part of it.
"Ezra, I am terribly sorry to tell you this information, and even more sorry that I couldn't deliver it to you in person. But your parents are never going to be able to come home anymore."
Sabine was stunned. His parents were dead.
"What happened?" She asked.
"They were keyblade wielders. They had a similar assignment to Kanan, Zeb, and Hera. Going from world to world to protect the balance of light. But one day, they met their match. Someone with more darkness than they could defeat."
"Did... did they ever find out who it was?"
"Yes. He was a being of darkness like Sheev. He had put King Mickey on the ropes before Xehanort created the Real Organization. His name..."
The name sent chills down both of the spines.
"Was Sidious."
There will be an epilogue.
