They walked forward back to back with their keyblades out. The land they walked on was all stone. Lightning flashed overhead and thunder rolled. Ezra wasn't confident in their ability and Sabine wasn't that confident either.
"Think we have a shot?" Ezra asked.
"We don't really have a choice," Sabine replied, "either we save them, or they die here."
Two Heartless materialized in front of them. They smacked them with their keyblades, destroying them. They continued forward.
"Well this world is definitely inviting." Sabine said.
"Could be worse," Ezra said, "could be armies against us."
Heartless began appearing in front of them. Unversed also began swishing interspersed with them. White creatures that Ezra had never seen, which he guessed were Nobodies, also began rising in the ranks of enemies. Ezra could feel Sabine's eyes on him.
"You just had to say it could be worse?" she asked.
They both ran into the fray. They first cast several shots of fire, ice, air, and lightning, destroying swaths of them. When they finally got to the army, they began slashing their way through. They didn't try to destroy the whole army, they just wanted to get to the other side of the horde. After about a solid minute, they were finally on the other side. They continued running away as fast as they could. Not that far away was what looked like a medieval castle with its main gate open. The second they entered the gate closed.
"So you have come." They heard as they caught their breaths.
Rather than a dark corridor opening in front of them, the being in white was just standing at the castle's entrance. Ezra and Sabine straightened their posture and faced it down. The being put up a hand as the other one reached for the top of the hood's opening. It took off the hood revealing at last what it looked like. Or rather what HE looked like. He simply looked like an old man. His eyes were still the piercing yellow, but that was just the irises glowing.
"Who are you?" Ezra asked.
"Where are they?!" Sabine asked.
"One thing at a time. My name, your precious Master Yen Sid wouldn't remember, is Sheev," he replied, "As for your friends... they are here and alive. For now."
Both of them ran and jumped at Sheev. He created his empty whips and managed to block the attacks with the whips wrapping themselves around the keyblades.
"What do you want with them?!" Sabine asked.
"The mage and guard I have no use for," he replied, throwing them back, "the keyblade wielder... he is the only person of interest."
"Why do you want him?!" Ezra asked, rebounding to Sheev. Sabine followed.
"He is the one who can lead me to it."
"TO WHAT?!?" They both screamed as they prepared to try and cut him like they were a pair of scissors.
"The heart of all." His whips changed into staffs that he blocked the attacks with. "Kingdom Hearts."

The dungeon cell was exactly what they thought it would look like: damp, dark, cold. What really confused them after they came to, though, was they couldn't summon their weapons. Kanan was next to the cell door, attempting to summon his keyblade outside of the cell. Nothing happened.
"How is this possible?" Kanan asked.
"Magic?" Zeb asked, "Think you could dispel it, Hera?"
"Not without knowing what spell was used." Hera responded.
Kanan tried to cast blizzard on the lock. A snowflake flew from him, hit the lock and melted. Hera tried to cast water on it, but a drop flew from her hand and just stayed until it evaporated. Zeb walked to the door and kicked it hard. The door shook. Kanan decided to see how the door hinges were keeping the door in place. Kanan came up with an idea. He and Zeb grabbed the door and lifted it as best they could. After they reached the highest they could lift it, the door fell from their grip. All three walked out of the cell and they were immediately able to summon their weapons. They took off for a stairway the led up and out of the dungeon.
There should only be, like, three or four chapters left.
Next part coming soon.
