"How many times do I need to tell you to shut up?"

"Oh, okay. Didn't realize I was dating Hitler!"

"Shut, up Hope! You know what you did!"

"What?! What did I do Landon?!"

"You lied to me about how you felt about me!"

"No, I didn't! Who told you that?"

"Alyssa did!"

"She's lying I never did that, and to insinuate it proves you don't trust me!"

"Oh, my bad. How could I forget, Hope Mikaelson can do no wrong?!"

"Fine! I'm breaking up with you!"

Silence. I look around seeing the entire school basically just watched me dump Landon. With a deep breath,h I turn away walking out of the library barely catching a glimpse of Josie and Lizzie. I need to clear my head and the only way I can do that is to go to the dock and train. If I train I'll be ready for the next monster, that, and if I think about breaking up with Landon it's the only thing I'll ever think about.

So, I train, for hours, till the sun starts to set making the murky water turn gold from the sun's rays. I don't know how exactly much time passed but I know that I needed to get better so I could protect the ones I care about. But I hear the sound of a twig snapping and I throw the bamboo stick at the sound, it goes into the tree making the two intruders jump back with a yelp.

"Oh, sorry. I guess I just got into my head."

"It's good. We came here to see if you were okay." Lizzie says.

"Are you okay?" Josie asks.

I shrug keeping my eyes at my wrist while I unwrap them. I can tell they're hesitant to believe me, especially because of how it all went down with Landon and me.

"I think it was a long time coming, honestly how did the fire chicken find a way into your cold heart," Lizzie says with a joking tone at the end.

"Lizzie!" Josie scolds.

"I don't know what to feel, I guess. I'm not really sad over it as I thought I would be, or crushed by the fact that someone else I have cared about has left me. Well, not physically at least. We should probably get back to the school it's nearly curfew."

I look down at my shoes with my arms crossed, hoping that they will leave and I can go back to training.

"I'm gonna go check on MG to see if he needs help with his homework."

Once Lizzie leaves I feel Josie step closer with only a few steps left between us I look up and see her eyebrows drawn together in concern. I grab my jacket off the ground and put it on suddenly knowing how close she is to me.

"Do you maybe want to sit with us at dinner? I mean you don't have to I just, I could use someone to hang out with who understands what I went through with the whole Dark Josie fiasco. That and, we could hang out after school and study or whatever you want to do. As I said you don't have to."

"Sure."

"I understand, I know you're bus- wait you said yes?"

"Uh, I think I did. Were you planning that I said no cause I can?"

"No! No, I really want to hang out with you." She stutters and to be honest it's kinda cute how her eyes widened and she waved her hands to help prove her point.

"Good, cause if I'm being honest I could use someone who understands what I'm going through."

She smiles brightly and grabs my wrist and starts pulling me back towards the school, the warm soft skin touching me right now would make 14-year-old me so jealous and probably have a heart attack. It's everything I thought it would be the butterflies erupting in my stomach, and fireworks going off in my head.
