"What?" I blurted. A pleasant chuckle filled the air: "Look around you, Caleb." I looked around slowly, my eyes went wide when I took in what was in front of me.

A magnificent white wolf was stood in front of me. His eyes were white with silver swirls. I gazed at him in awe. He had a scar over his left eye, matching mine. I turned my head around, my eyes and mouth open in shock. "Is that-" I whispered. A radiant smile appeared on her face, "Yes, my boy. He's your wolf." She announced. I whipped back to the wolf and he bowed his head.

'I'm Conan. It's nice to finally meet you in person. I've been watching over you.' His voice appeared in my head, it was deep and strong. What I would expect from an Alpha wolf.

"Why now?" I choked, keeping my eyes on the wolf... My wolf.

"I had to make sure you wouldn't end up like Carson." She replied. "You knew all along?" I muttered. She appeared in front of me and placed her hand on my wolf's head. He leaned into her, "I did. But I needed you to find out for yourself. You are special, Caleb. You are my last white wolf." She explained. "I needed you to choose the right path and you have. You will be blessed with everything a wolf has." She added.

"A mate?" I choked. She smiled warmly at me, "They will come to you soon." She mentioned. I frowned and sighed. "You don't look so happy, what's wrong?" She asked. I shook my head, "You want the Alpha, don't you?" She chuckled. I looked up at her. "Is he?" I asked, looking up at her. She sighed and that gave me the answer I needed.

"Will my eyesight come back with my wolf healing?" I asked. "Yes, Caleb." She replied. "You don't have long, you need to complete your shift. Your family is in danger." She blurted. I chuckled darkly and shook my head. "They aren't my family." I countered. She chuckled and began fading away. "Family isn't always blood, my child. Go, they need you." Her voice disappeared. Then I felt it. The burning, pulling, twisting.

Dominic's POV.

"Alpha, breach on the north border."

"Alpha, breach on the west border."

I didn't know what to do. Caleb had passed out 5 minutes ago, I linked my mum but she wasn't responding, no one was. Now this fucking border breach. I growled and carefully lifted Caleb from the floor, I laid him on the sofa.

"I need 2 warriors on each entrance and exit of the packhouse. Protect Beta Caleb at all costs." I ordered through the link.

I looked down at Caleb and he looked like he was sleeping peacefully. I groaned, I leaned forward and gently pressed my lips against his. Addi is right, I haven't found my mate, we can choose each other. I mark him, it won't matter who my mate is... They won't feel the bond. I've tried keeping him at arm's length but it's getting harder and harder. I'm in love with this stubborn idiot and I can't go on without him. "I love you." I breathed before rushing out of the office.

'He's safe, right?' Damon whined.

'No one will get to him.' I growled. Even though he's not our mate, Damon is happy enough for me to be with him. He likes him and there's something about him that draws him to us.

"Get to the safe room," I yelled as I ran down the stairs. I ushered as many as I could into the safe room before I made my way outside to the pack grounds. I jumped down the porch steps, bringing Damon forward, we shifted before we landed on the gravel.

I gave all control to Damon. He let out a menacing growl and darted forward. He took down the rogues in his path. "Dominic, where are you?" My mum's panicked voice filled my mind. "Near the pack nursery. Don't worry, do your thing. I'm ok." I replied.

In the distance, I could see a rogue stood over an injured wolf. He pushed harder and crashed into him. He gripped his neck in our jaws and bit down hard, feeling his bones crush. He dropped the ground onto the floor before glancing behind us. A pack medic was attending to the wolf, Damon bobbed his head and took off again.

"Addi, where see you? Are you safe?" I worried through the link. She growled in response and I knew she was ok. I reached the clearing and saw my parents in their wolf form. They were fighting off wolf's left right and centre together. They were so in sync, it was incredible. Damon spun around in time to see a rogue trying to snap at our hind legs. Damon snarled and snapped our jaws at the rogue's snout.

The rogue backed up only to be joined by 4 other rogues. They were circling me, Damon snarled and growled. He let out a howl as a rogue sunk his teeth into our tail. Mum leapt between us and her protective barrier surrounded us. My mum has 3 abilities due to being a Dark Wolf, the barrier being one of them. She trapped the rogue inside with us, mum gripped the rogue's neck and shook her head. The rogue went limp in her hold and she spat him out.

Dads wolf howled as loads of rogues attacked him at the same time. Mums wolf eyes went wide. "Go," I screamed through the link.

I looked around as the 4 rogues circled me. Mum had her protective barrier around her and dad. More rogues were coming out of the tree line. This was planned. I fought off every wolf that came at me, I was sharing control with Damon. I tried linking Uncle Alex and Addi but I couldn't get through.

A vicious growl echoed throughout the pack land, causing a pleasurable feeling to rush through me. A wolf jumped out from the trees and landed in the middle of the clearing. Everyone stopped and stared as the wolf snarled. My skin prickled as the scent of the wolf engulfed my senses. This was a new scent, one I didn't know.

Nonononono, this can't be happening. Damon took control and turned. We locked eyes with a huge snow-white wolf. I gulped as the wolf lifted his snout in the air. His eyes locked back on mine and he growled.

'Mate!' Damon growled.
