2 years later - Leon's POV.
"The Dark Wolf Pack... Your new Alpha and Luna." Caleb resounded to the pack. Everyone clapped and cheered. I peered down at my Luna and beamed. I held my hand out and she placed hers in mine. Everyone bowed, showing they accepted me as their Alpha. I bowed in response.
"Well, we'll be going... You've got this Alpha." Dominic smirked. "You're not staying for the party?" I questioned. "Nope, I have a hot date." He grinned. "Oh, let me know how it goes," Caleb smirked. "All I'll say is... don't expect me home." He winked at his mate as they strolled off together.
"They're so happy together," Amelia breathed as she watched them shove each other before shifting into their wolves. "Yeah, so are we." I chuckled. She smiled up at me before resting her head on my shoulder. "We are." She sighed happily.
"Alpha," Wade bowed at me then smirked. I shook my head and grinned, "Beta," I greeted with the same greeting. "I can't believe this. I mean, did you ever expect to be this important to the pack?" He exulted, looking around. I shook my head, "Honestly, no. I still remember the day they asked me," I sighed.
Wade has been my best friend since I can remember. His mum is close with mine so we were always together. He hasn't found his mate yet, but with the number of wolves that come through this pack because of KS Guidance, he's got a high chance of finding her. The Alpha training killed me, it was intense and Caleb and Carson were like robots. It was never-ending. Caleb and Carson are sticking with the centre, it's theirs... I wouldn't know what to do about that. In time I will need to learn but for right now, I'm content with what I've got.
"And you, our little miss Luna." He chirped, "How does it feel?" He asked. She giggled and linked her arm through mine, "Terrifying." She replied with a little giggle. "You've got this, you were taught by the best." He mentioned.
Amaris took her under her wing. She told her what it takes to be a Luna and that all it is, is just be there. We've all heard the stories about the Knight family. I couldn't imagine going through what they did. Caleb and Dominic's story is the one that everyone still talks about, how they are pure soul mates, they wanted each other even before the bond was formed. It's like something you would read in one of those romance novels... Amelia is obsessed with them.
We strolled around the pack garden, mingling with the pack. Everyone was so welcoming and treat me as their Alpha. I thought they wouldn't because I'm not of Alpha blood, but Caleb made a point to tell everyone I have earned the position and I'm more than capable of leading them.
"Did you hear Cory is coming back?" Wade whispered, I nodded and smiled. "Yes, he's bringing Amara and Ryan back," I answered. Cory is Dominic's older brother, he moved with sister Addison when she left. He's bringing them to be close to their grandparents now they're old enough.
"I'm surprised none of his kids got the Alpha position." Wave mentioned, I glanced at him and shook my head. "No, Cory is a warrior, he didn't want it and his kids have taken after him," I replied, I asked the same thing. "A warrior she-wolf... Badass," He whistled. "Yeah, she'd probably put you on your arse." I chuckled.
I glanced over to look for Amelia, I left her talking with her friends as I made my way through the crowds. I saw her talking to Cleo. I turned back to Wade and gestured him towards a few pack members. "Alpha Leon, Beta Wade." Louis greeted. I smiled and bit my tongue, trying not to laugh. I spluttered out laughing and everyone turned to me. "What's so funny?" Wade asked, shrugging. "I... Just realised... Your title and name..." I spluttered in between laughing.
He furrowed his brows at me and looked confused. "What about it?" He puzzled. "It sounds like Gatorade." I guffawed. "Real mature, Alpha." He scowled. "I never claimed to be mature." I chuckled. "Plus, the pack know me. I can be serious when I need to be." I nodded. The members around me nodded and smiled.
"Right, enjoy the rest of your night." I smiled and went towards Amelia. "Wade, fuck off and go mingle." I groaned. He chuckled and held his hands up before sauntering away. I reached the table where she was sat and she looked tired. "What's up? Do you want to leave?" I questioned. She shook her head at me and smiled sweetly, "This is your night, Leon... Go enjoy yourself." She replied. "I can't enjoy myself if you aren't," I grumbled.
"I'm just tired, babe. That's all." She answered. "Come on, we'll go home." I held my hand out for her, she placed her hand in mine and smiled. "Let's go tell everyone," I added.
After I'd bid everyone goodnight and explained why I was leaving, we made our way back to the packhouse. "See, everyone understood why I was leaving. You're my mate, I'll always look after you." I pressed my lips to her head and linked my fingers through hers.
We reached the Alpha's floor in the packhouse, we headed straight to our room. She immediately went to the bed and flopped down. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was asleep. She must have been exhausted. I sighed and removed her shoes. I pulled the blanket from beneath her carefully and placed it over her. "I love you," I whispered as I placed a chaste kiss on her forehead. I climbed in next to her after stripping off my clothes. I pulled her into me and snuggled against her.
'Leon, can you hear it?' Linus, my wolf asked.
'Hear what?' I asked.
'Two heartbeats...' He whispered.
I focused my hearing and I heard it, Amelia's heartbeat was racing which was concerning but very faintly I could hear a tiny little heartbeat. She's pregnant? Why didn't she tell me? "Amelia?" I gently shook her. She stirred as she turned over and fluttered open her eyes. "You're pregnant?" I asked. Her eyes went wide and she smiled sleepily at me. She reached her hand up and touched my cheek.
"I am," She replied. "Are you mad?" She whispered. I shook my head and smiled brightly at her. "No, baby, I'm over the moon. A little pup," I breathed, wrapping my arms around her. "Sleep, beautiful," I whispered, placing a small kiss on her lips. She fell back to sleep pretty quickly. I laid listening to the beat of her heart and our little pups before falling asleep dreaming about how our life was about to change.
