Percy's POV
My lovely girlfriend came over to me in the hallway and grinned. She had a special grin just for me. Annabeth would grin widely, showing her teeth, and just look so blissfully happy. Every time she smiled at me like that, I was so grateful to be on the receiving end and to know that it was because of me that she was so happy. That's all I really want. All I want is for her to be happy, and I thank whatever Gods are up there listening that Annabeth is happy with me. She walks over to me and pulls me into a hug. She smells like her perfume, and I put my face into the crook of her neck and sigh contently. The fact that I can freely do this still baffles me. The fact that the most perfect girl in the world was giving me a chance, was well, incredible and unbelievable. She pulled away from the hug at the same time as I lifted my head. Annabeth beamed at me.
"Perce, you remember Matt, right?" she asked me.
"Sloan?" I ask her, since there are many Matt's in this school.
"Yeah, him. I told him we'd meet him in the cafe after school, because he wanted to hang out. Is that okay?" she asked me, and bit her bottom lip. Annabeth looked as if she was convinced I would turn her down and she'd have to go apologize.
"Of course it's okay. As long as I get to sit next to you, it sounds perfect." I replied. She looked up at me and beamed as if I had given her the world. Annabeth went on her tippy toes and kissed me lightly.
"Meet me by my locker at the end of the school day, and we'll go to the cafe together." she said and walked off to her next class. I couldn't help but feel a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I felt as if something really bad was going to happen at the cafe. I shrugged the thought off. What's the worst thing that can happen to a couple of teenagers in a public place?~At the Cafe~
Matt's POV
I walked into the cafe and took a seat at a table by the window. I awaited for the arrival of the stunning Annabeth Chase and her loser boyfriend. I thought about the time that I had first met her. (Flashbacks are always going to be in italics.) It had been a dreadfully boring art class, when the door opened and a flustered, beautiful girl awkwardly walked in. The teacher, Ms. Brighton, looked at the girl with contempt.
"May I ask who you are and why you're walking into my classroom five minutes into my lesson?" she had asked the girl. The girl was blushing furiously and refused to meet the teacher's eyes. She seemed to find the floor particularly interesting.
"I'm the new student, Annabeth Chase. Luke had been giving me a tour of the school, but he had classes to go to before he showed me where this class was. I'm only later because I couldn't find it." the girl had said, getting more irritated by the second, and more courageous. In the middle of her response, she had looked up from the floor and stared straight into the teacher's eyes, glaring. I knew at that moment that she and I would soon be good friends.
"Alright, but I don't appreciate tardiness. Any future lateness will be met with detentions. Now go take your seat by Matt." the teacher had said. Annabeth nodded and looked around, looking for me. I raised my hand and waved to acknowledge my presence. She looked at me and smiled, and went to sit next to me. We looked at each other simultaneously and grinned. Yes, this indeed would be a great friendship.
I wondered when I stopped thinking of her as a friend and started to think of her as a possible girlfriend. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the bell ringing on the door. I turned around to see Annabeth and Percy. She seemed to be looking for me. I called out her name, and she smiled at me. She walked towards me, Percy trailing behind her. I got up and held out my arms. Annabeth hugged me, but released me quicker than I would have liked. Percy and I just nodded at each other. He took out the chair for Annabeth, and she smiled at him. He smiled back, and then promptly sat in the seat next to her. I sat across from them. They looked so, happy, and I felt a twinge of guilt. What if she isn't this happy with me? I quickly dismissed the thought. I'm Matt Sloan, and anyone would be lucky to have me.
"So how was school?" I asked. Our conversation seemed to go on for hours. As we went through our second cups of coffee, Percy glanced at his watch and his eyes widened.
"We should probably go, Annie. It's almost 6, and your mom will be upset if you don't do your homework." he said. I sighed. I had really enjoyed hanging out with Annabeth, I felt that she had opened up to me, and maybe a relationship was possible.
"You're right, Perce. Matt, I had an amazing time. We should definitely do this more often." Annabeth said and grinned. We all stood up, and me and Annabeth hugged. Percy and I did a nod at each other before they left. I smiled, completely, entirely full of joy. Annabeth was incredible, and Percy is boring in comparison to me, so she'll eventually succumb to my charm. It's destiny.Author's Note:
I'm a huge bloody idiot. I'm so sorry. 😭😭😭 My phone broke, and my mom is the only one with a laptop, and she wouldn't let me use it for this. I just got a new phone like a week ago (iPhone 5, because my parents are cheap 😂). There's no excuse for my tardiness. I'm very sorry. I'll try very hard to make it up to you, just tell me how. 💓💓💓 My birthday is coming up. August 3rd, and I'll be a year older. 😂 My phone was my present, I found it so my parents let me have it early. 😂 Since it's summer, and I'm an antisocial loser, who's only real friend is in Europe, I'll update as much as possible. You'll probably be tired of the notifications with all my updates. 😂 I'm really going to try for twice a week, but I have horrible luck, so I hope that nothing else goes wrong. If everything stays normal, expect a constant update. I love you guys! 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓 Thank you for all the reads! All your comments make me happy, I love them. Continue to comment, your comments make my day. ☺️ I love you all!!!!! 💓💓💓
