The knocking at your door brings you out of your book. You set it down, walking to the door to answer it.

Unlocking it, you hesitantly open it a crack to see who it is, despite already expecting someone. It's practically impossible to gauge who could be waiting outside.

"Hey, Derek." You smile, opening your door fully.

"Hey! I've come to help." He chuckles, passing through your doorway with a toolbox.

You called him a few hours ago to see if he could install your new lock and cameras. Unfortunately, your apartment still feels unsafe.

"Seriously, thank you for coming. I didn't want to bother you. I just really don't know anyone else who is handy," you laugh, "and I definitely have no idea how to install it myself."

"No problem at all." He gives you a soft smile. "You know everyone on the team is a family. Any time you need help with anything, any of us wouldn't hesitate to assist."

"I know, which is why I appreciate you all so much." You walk into your kitchen. "Want anything to drink? Water? Coffee?"

"Water is good."

Morgan takes a closer look at your doorknob, grimacing. "So this is all you have on this door right now?"

You hand him a bottle of water. "Yeah, unfortunately it is. That's why I needed something safer."

"Yeah, this is just a standard doorknob. Without anything else, and the way it looks like it was installed...it could easily be knocked off. This door honestly could be pushed in pretty easily..."

Exactly what I've been scared of.

"Right," you say, nodding in agreement. "And the fact that there's no peephole either, it all worries me. I just don't understand why the landlord doesn't care about the safety of the tenants that live here."

"That's why I'm glad I can help, so you don't have to worry." Morgan smiles. "You wanna show me which one it is?"

Hopefully, now you can feel safer.

. . .

"You know who I think is seeing someone?"

"Who?" you ask, handing Morgan the screwdriver he asked for.

"Reid."

You swallow. "Spencer?"

You can't help the look on your face, and Morgan takes notice of it. It's pure luck that he doesn't take it the way it's intended.

He chuckles. "Yeah, shocking, right? Never thought I would see the day where the kid would be seeing someone."

Seeing someone?

"Did... Did he say something?" you ask, trying to contain any bitterness within your tone.

If Spencer did say something to Morgan, you feel that's hypocritical. He didn't want you to say anything. That's why you stopped talking about him to the girls altogether, even with a stupid alias.

"No, no. It's just more-so that I can tell. He seems happier."

Happier?

"I guess you wouldn't be able to tell since you've only known everyone for a couple of months."

You look at him questioningly, not knowing quite what Morgan means. He is right, you've been at the BAU for barely three months. You really haven't known Spencer long. Even if it feels like you've known him forever all at the same time.
