Jeff found himself glancing at his watch every few minutes. Eddie, his best friend, was slightly annoyed by this.
"Quit looking at your watch!" Eddie exclaimed. "It won't make time go any faster."
"I know," Jeff said smiling as he looked over at Eddie.
"You're kookie," Eddie said rolling his eyes.
"Ah, buzz off," Jeff said waving his hand. "You know you'd be the same way if you met a pretty girl."
"God, you're snowed too," Eddie said pushing Jeff's shoulder.
Jeff pushed Eddie back. "I am not snowed," He said. "I only like her a little."
"Big time snowed," Bobby said from all the way at the front of the bus.
"Shut it," Jeff yelled up at Bobby.
Eddie laughed. Jeff, who was rather annoyed now, pulled a cigarette out of the package he had bought at the general store. He lit it and started smoking.
Eddie coughed. "Jeff, open a window if you're gonna smoke," He said.
Jeff opened the window and let out a puff of smoke out. "Ya know, it's kinda nice here," He said. "No one seems to know who we are. No one is ragging on us."
"You've only been in one store," Bobby said from up front.
"Nah, it's just the vibes I get here," Jeff said. "It's like it's super laid back here."
Bobby pressed on the brakes in front of the hotel. "Well, all I know is that this is the type of place my mom wanted me to settle down, and you know I ain't ever doin' that," He said opening the door of the bus.
Jeff stood up still smoking his cigarette.
Eddie continued to sit down. "I'll leave when Jeff's finally finished that weed," He said.
John, who had been silent this entire time, stood up and walked off the bus.
"What's eating Johnny?" Jeff asked.
Eddie shrugged. Jeff got off the bus. As soon as he stepped off the bus he dropped some ashes onto the ground. He crushed the ashes with his shoe as he followed John towards the hotel.
Bobby looked back at Eddie. "You goin'?" Bobby asked.
"Yeah, yeah," Eddie said standing up. Eddie ran his hand over his black hair to make sure it was still the way he wanted it before walking off the bus. Bobby closed the bus door then drove it to a parking spot. He then parked it and turned off the engine. He got out and headed towards the hotel.
Bobby caught up with Eddie. They walked into the hotel. Jeff was waiting at the counter with his arms crossed.
"Why haven't you gotten us a room yet?" Bobby asked.
"Well, John already got himself a room," Jeff said. "These rooms only have two beds and I am not doubling up again..."
Bobby and Eddie glance over at each other. "How about we just all get our own rooms?" Eddie asked.
Jeff shrugged. "It's alright with me," He said.
"What's with Johnny bein' so secretive?" Bobby asked.
"Didn't he get a letter from Denise the last stop?" Eddie asked.
"I think so," Jeff said. "Wonder what it said..."
"Do you think she dumped him?" Eddie asked.
Bobby shook his head. "I doubt it. That little girl was head over heals for John," He said.
Jeff looked at his feet. He looked back up. "Well, whatever, let's just get to our room," He said.
Bobby walked to the counter. The receptionist, an old man with greying hair, looked up at him. "I'd like three rooms for the night," Bobby said. He put his hand into his pocket to get some money.
"That'll be fifteen dollars," The receptionist said.
Bobby wrinkled his nose as he handed the receptionist a twenty. The receptionist gave him a five back and three keys. Bobby handed Eddie and Jeff their keys.
"Next time we're having everyone sleep in the same room," Bobby said. "I don't have the money for this."
Jeff uncrossed his arms and looked at his watch. It was thirty minutes to six.

(Kookie means to be nuts in the best possible way, snowed means infatuated, and a weed is a cigarette. I dunno if I had to explain that, but it will just in case.)
