Part Twelve

Declan's Pov

Stupid Ami, Stupid Shawn, Stupid Ritsuko, Stupid everyone. I thought as I made my way to the main house to see if I could find anyone from our team since we all had split up. The headmasters and the headmistress wanted all the teams to get to the great hall for dinner and an announcement. I walked into the Great hall and saw that WATR was in a corner next to a team from Vacco. Onacona was talking to someone I had never met.  Shawn was in a corner next to a girl with fiery red hair. Ritsuko and NEON were nowhere to be seen. Obviously, Ami still wasn't here. "Alright Is everyone here?" Miss Goodwitch asked while looking around. Making sure that everyone was here. " As you all know the Vytal Festival was created to serve as a celebration of peace between the Kingdoms. Every two years, a Kingdom would be chosen to open its doors to the world, allowing citizens from every corner of Remnant to meet and indulge in one another's cultures. And today we as Vale will be hosting the Festival, I expect you all to be nice to the other students. I will let Headmistress Harnuro take over." Headmaster Oozpin said while walking off the stage deceitfully. "Thank you Oozpin. As you all know Beacon will be hosting this year. There will be what there always is. Dancing, Food, and of course fighting if your team would like to participate then sign up before the end of tomorrow. Anyone can fight in the tournament they just need to sign up. The dance will be at the end of tomorrow so keep that in mind." Headmistress Harnuro said while she walked out, with the other Headmasters behind her. "You are all dismissed." Miss Goodwitch said. "Hello, do you know where the guess dorms are? We tried asking people but they never told us where we are supposed to sleep." A male asked me he had brown hair and a green kimono thing on. "Turn left at the food court, right at the gardens and if you don't see a sign then ask someone nearby," I said coldly looking to see if Ami was back or not. Only to see that she wasn't. "Oh. Ok, thank you." He said a bit surprised at my coldness. "If you don't mind me asking. What happened to your team?" He asked me puzzled looking around trying to see if I really was alone. " I do mind actually. Don't you need to go tell your team about the news?" I stated while looking away. "Thanks, I guess." He said while walking off to where I guess his team was. 

I wonder what it was that had Ami so upset, that she would run off without leaving any trace. I mean I guess I overstepped some boundaries but not enough that she should just run off and not come back the next day. I wonder if the rest of the team thinks about me in the same way? No of course not, they're just as worried as I am. Right? But what if I'm wrong? Maybe I got Ami to leave for good. Is that such a good thing? I thought as I went up to the food court to get a Shepherd's Pie and some water, for dinner.

Once I got them I headed to the courtyard to see if I could spot anyone that I knew, who didn't hate me at the moment. I sat down at a bench under a Dogwood tree that had ivy all over it. I heard some rustling in the branches above me. "Hello is anyone up there?" I called out. When I didn't get a response I shrugged it of as either the wind or an animal. And went back to eating. "Declan?" Someone asked it sounded very familiar so I looked up and saw Ami. "AMI! Where have you been? You had us all worried!" I yelled to the girl with golden hair and silver shoes. "Sorry for worrying everyone I needed to make sure that a few loose strings were tied." She told me while swinging down to sit on the bench with me. "So I guess I should find everyone and tell them that I'm back." Ami stuttered out while getting up she was looking downwards and to the left as well. "WAIT!" I yelled grabbing her arm to pull her back down to sit next to me. "Please. I-I wanted to apologize. I realize now that what I said was uncalled for. If something really was going on you would tell someone.  And I hope you can forgive me." I said sorry that I had said those things and I truly believed that Ami would tell us if something was wrong. "Thank you, Declan. But I really have to get going now." Ami told me while shaking my handoff. I wonder if I truly blew it. I looked to the sky and saw the most pretty sight in the world a sunset, the colors were a beautiful mixture of orange, red, yellow. "Wow," I whispered, looking at it. "Yeah, It really is pretty isn't it." A voice said breaching the peace.  I looked over in shock to see that Onacona had said that as he was walking over towards me. "Do you mind if I sit down here?" He asked me while pointing to the bench that I was sitting on. "Sure." "So anything on your mind recently?" He asked me which caused a breakdown. "I-I caused one of my teammates to run off, I di-didn't feel b-bad about it until until now when I-I saw her again and realized that she could have been killed and no one would have known." I sobbed out trying to make sense of everything that had happened in the last couple of days. "Well I don't know about your team but whenever something like that happened to us we take a breather and sleep on it since it's probably caused by stress." He told me. "Thanks," I said and with that, I passed out. 

I woke up to Shawn shaking me. "Wake up! We need to find Ami." Shawn yelled at me while Ritsuko was brushing her hair. "I'm up, I'm up. Wait what do you mean that we need to find her she's right there." I said while pointing to where Ami would normally be this early in the morning which was the kitchen. "Declan what are you talking about?" Shawn asked me with a look on his face. "I saw her yesterday she was in a Dogwood tree that was covered in ivy, and then we talked, she told me she was going to see everyone and let them know that she was alright," I said leaving out the part where I not only cried but passed out on Onacona. "Ami wasn't here last night," Ritsuko told me while sharing a look with Shawn. "Then let's check with NEON  I'm sure they might know something," I said trying to figure out if she lied, or if I hallucinated the whole thing. I got up gripped Aelfdene and yelled "ENDRING" To help me get ready for the day. "Come on let's go," I said excitedly. I think I scared Shawn and Ritsuko since I never really got to show this side of me. I started to run down the hall's not really caring at that moment about hallway rules. Ritsuko and Shawn ran after me while yelling at me to slow down. I skidded to a stop in front of NEON's door which caused Ritsuko and Shawn to slide into me. "What on earth is going on out here?" Nova asked while opening the door to a very unusable site. "Someone bring a camera I think this is that first time Declan's ever had fun!" Nova yelled back into the room. "No way," "I need to see this." Was somebody's replied to this. "I have a camera." El said while dragging her camera out and taking what felt like a hundred pictures. We all laughed the whole time. I don't know what happened but I don't want it to end. 

 Once we all got detangled from each other we headed into their room. "Have any of you seen Ami recently? Declan say's that he saw her. But no ones seen her since." Shawn said while giving me a side glance. "Yeah actually we did come to think about it." Orion said since everyone else was looking at each other trying to figure out if they really did or not. I guess they got in late last night. "But she said that she had already meet up with you all." Nixon said while looking at a picture that was hung up on the wall. "Well that's a bit of a disappointment thanks guys." Ritsuko said starting to head out. "If we see her we will literally drag her to you guys and we will have a group meeting. Alright?" El said while throwing her fist into her palm. "Yeah thanks." Shawn said.  We headed out of there room and waited in the hall. "Now what?" I asked. "You said she was in a dogwood tree covered in ivy right." Shawn asked me. "Yes." I replied getting a feel as to what was about to happen. "Then let's go there first and look at where her favorite places are." He said while we started to run of to the tree. Let's go find our missing piece.
