Part Sixteen

Declan's pov

I woke up to the sounds of birds. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT THE FIGHTS ARE BEING RUSHED?" Scratch that. I wonder what has Ami so riled up this morning. "I mean they are having fights three at a time so they can get the festival over as soon as possible," Gabriel said. I started to make my way to the kitchen where all the noise was. I wonder why Gabriel was here. I walked into the kitchen to see Ami standing up in a defensive position, Shawn was behind her and looked very confused. He probably just woke up too. Ritsuko was eating some Gohan, which means she had already gone to the dining hall. I went to sit next to Ritsuko, "So what happened?" I whispered to not face Ami's wrath. "Gabriel came in without a warning and let us know that the fights were not only being rushed but that we needed to get to the landing platform after the dance for some odd reason." She whispered back. "I need to let the other teams know. Have a nice rest of your day." Gabriel said, he left the room and as soon as he got to the doorway I got an odd feeling in my stomach like something bad was about to happen. "I need to take a walk," Ami said while getting Morning Sun, and walking to the doorway that not even a minute before Gabriel had walked out of. "You are coming back right?" Shawn asked while grabbing her wrist. "Yeah, I'll be at the dance. NEON wants me to sing a song." She said while giving him a small smile. "Ok, stay safe,"  Shawn said while letting go of her wrist. She walked out of the room with a sense of purpose. "I hope she doesn't get herself hurt," I said while shaking my head. "She won't," Shawn said while nodding his head. I got up and started to get ready for the day. I got my hunting clothes which consisted of a white button-down shirt, gray khakis, brown boots, a pouch for my book, my signature purple vest, and last but not least my brown gloves. I walked to the bathroom and did my routine. I walked back out and poked my head into the kitchen.  "Don't forget to ask someone to the dance," I said while talking to Shawn since Ritsuko wasn't in there anymore. I walked out of our dorm to be met face to face with Roisin and a Funasus girl. "Oh, there you are," Roisin said while the other girl squeaked and hid behind her. "Two questions, will you go to the dance with me? And two do you know where Nixon is?" Roisin asked me while butting the poor girl to face me. I had a slight blush on my face from the surprise of being asked. "I was just about to ask you to go with me, so yes. As for Nixon if he isn't in his dorm or with his team check with Ami. They seem to have a knack for knowing where the other is." The girl looked downcast at hearing that Nixon and Ami were very close to each other. "Not in that way!" I rushed out, her ears poked up at hearing that. Roisin raised an eyebrow at hearing that. "Nixon and Ami have a brother-sister relationship, not anything like that," I said while moving us as to where we were not in the middle of our doorway. "Thanks!" The girl yelled while running to go find Nixon I think.

Roisin and I were walking to the dining hall and before we went in she grabbed my arm and pulled me into a corridor. "How do you know so much about the whereabout of NEON's leader?" Roisin asked me while crossing her arms. "We have a lot of get-togethers with them, Shawn's idea,"  I said while rolling my eyes. "Well I'll see you at the dance," I said while walking into the dining hall. 

I went to the counter and grabbed some fried eggs, sausages, back bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, and a slice of fried bread. I headed towards where I normally sit, when I got there I noticed a letter where Nova normally sits. "HEY YA DECLAN!" "Morning El," She is way too excited this early in the morning. "Good morning Declan." At least Nova's being a little quiet today. "NOVA YOU HAVE A LETTER!" El yelled out in excitement, which caused me to spill my tea on myself. "Really El," I said while trying to clean up my mess. "Sorry, Declan." She said being quiet for once.  "It's fine. I noticed the letter earlier do you think you have a secret admirer?" I asked generally curious. "I don't think so," He said while dwindling off. "AWW Nova that's so cute!" El squeaked in excitement. Everyone was looking at us like we were crazy and had lost our minds which is probably true. "El shush!" Nova hissed at her. While scanning the letter over.  El decided to leave the table to go find something to eat. I wonder what she'll find. Probably pancakes. I looked around the room after noticing that Nova was preoccupied with his letter. I saw the girl that was with Roisin was talking to Nixon and they were both blushing, let's hope something good comes out of this. WATR was sitting at a table talking. Orion and El were nowhere to be found. "How does one woman move so fast?" I murmured to myself which caused Nova to make a sound of agreement. I saw Shawn grab an apple and leave the room, either looking for Ami or looking over strategies. Both ways are about equal on his to-do list. I thought with a roll of my eyes. I looked straight up and saw Gabriel speaking into his phone. He must have gotten bad news since he stormed out of the room. I wonder what has him so riled up? "Hey, Declan?" Nova suddenly asked. "Yes Nova," "I need to go somewhere really quickly. Can you tell El not to follow me?"  "Sure but I don't think she'll be doing anything of the sort," I said while pointing to her sitting at a faraway table talking to another team that I don't think I've seen before. "Oh, Orion's not going to be happy about that." He said as he got up to go do whatever he does.
