Entering the grand ball, you looked around to see many nobels chatting with each other, some places their eyes on you watching your every movement, waiting for you to make a mistake.

Always being put and cornered in a spot, you are the hated daughter or the marquess. The bad luck of the empire.

You were known to be cursed, bringing bad luck to those people who interact with you and you have come to the point of thinking that maybe it's true. Maybe you are cursed, after all you were the entire reason that the marchioness died, your mother died trying to save you. Well that's what all the people have been telling you.

Your existence brought bad luck to your family.

You sighed heavily and you found your way to the banquet's balcony. The cold wind greeted you and the stars in the sky sparked, giving you comfort. You decided to seat on the balcony's marbled fence, not caring if you were on a very annoying dress that was on trend for some reason,no one is here anyway just you and some crickets of flies.

You were tired from the ball although all you did was stand in a one place looking all pathetic. You closed you eyes, remembering all the words people has throwned at you.

You started to tear up when you remembered how your father look at you, it was cold and was filled in anger and disgust, those once lovable eyes. It was gone.

Would it be better if you were gone? Would it be better if you died instead of your mother?

You opened your eyes looking down. If you jump there you will die, you clenched your fist as tears kept flowing from your eyes down to your cheeks.

"Tss. What are you trying to do?" You turned to see the man who spoke and was shocked when you saw the person.

It was none other than lee heeseung, the one and only crown prince.

Heeseung looked at you admiring your beauty. Your tears seemed to make you prettier glistening like crystals in the moonlight's glow.

He heard a rumor about you once, that you were cursed and that you are very ugly. But it seems that it wasn't true as he thinks that he might have just seen the prettiest girl in the whole empire.

"Y-your highness!" You panicked, your eyes widened when your hold from the marble loosend making you fall, almost. Well thanks to the first prince's hand on your waist, you're still alive.

"Careful." He whispered behind your ear making you a blushing mess. You looked down again and saw how high the place was.

You can't believe it, you actually felt relieved that you are still alive. As much as this world hurts you, you still think its beautiful and you want to see it more.

Your hands fell to heeseung's arms when he carried you taking you from the marbled fence. His hands held your chin making you look up at him, your eyes met his at he wiped your tears away. Your heart was beating so fast, was it because you just had a near death experience? or was it because of the prince with an undeniable beauty?

You immediately removed your hands from him and composed yourself.

"G-greetings to this empire's great crown prince. May the connection reach you." You greeted him, you looked up to see him laughing. You were weirded out, looking at him. He seems happy is he okay? You shaked you head. How dare you think that the prince is weird? Although he does seem kind of weird.

"Im sorry you have to witness such a thing and thank you for saving me your highness." You said sincerely.

"Then why not inviting me to have a cup of tea sometimes?" He smiled at you with warmth that it reminded you of an angel. It almost made you forget about the reasons he was held as the crown prince.

"I-if that's what you want! I owe my life to you. Is that all?" His hand stopped in front of you.

"Then would you bless me with a dance my lady?" You looked at his hands taking it. You smiled at the prince.

You had your first dance that night and you gained a companion that was willing to give up anything just to be with you. Maybe you're not that unlucky as what people like to say.
