"I'm going to go make myself look human, so I don't scare the children!" I shout running up the stairs.
I brush my teeth and wash my face, then continue trying to find out what to do with my long hair.
I decide to part it in the middle and let it lay loosely.
As I smile in contentment I hear my phone erupt into vibrations.
"LIZZIE!" Alex yells.
"COMING GIVE ME TEN MINUTES!" I yell back and throw my phone down onto the beanbag. Running gracefully to my closet, I pull out favorite high-waisted jeans and a tshirt. Grabbing some earrings and my combat boots, I look in the mirror quickly.
Slinging my oversized bag over my shoulder and grabbing my phone I rush down the stairs.
"I'm here! I'm here!" I shout flailing my arms and running down the last few steps
"SUCCESS!" I fist pump making it down the stairs alive.
"Come on you dork." He says grabbing his keys. I slip on my boots quickly as he laughs at me and twirls the keys around his finger.
I nod happily and skip to the car. Putting in the new mixed CD I made and taking out the old.
"New one?" Alex asks raising an eyebrow.
"Yep! Singing playlist." I say happily.
"Okay good! So where to?" Alex asks.
"We'll I'm thinking We could go into the city, and before you say anything, yes I know it's two and a half hours away and traffic, BUT it's Saturday and we have till Tuesday since no school Monday." I conclude.
Alex sighs but smiles, "Alright, sounds like a road trip."
I fist pump again and we head out. "That and I made a pretty kick ass song mix."
"Some nights, I stay up cashing in my bad luck; some nights, I call it a draw
Some nights, I wish that my lips could build a castle
Some nights, I wish they'd just fall off
But I still wake up, I still see your ghost
Oh Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for
What do I stand for? What do I stand for?
Most nights, I don't know anymore...
This is it, boys, this is war - what are we waiting for?"
I dance and sing along to the music as Alex does the same.
"Good choice to start with." He says beaming at me.
I smile back, "only the best for you" I say poking his cheek.
He poke his tongue out at me then continues driving while we get weird looks at stop lights for our 'dance moves'
Oh well.
"Lizzie?"
"Huh? What happened?" I ask groggily coming back to reality, looking around and locking my phone quickly.
"Zoned out much?" Alex chuckles.
"Little bit...sorry." I mumble, rubbing my eyes.
"Aright, so I vote pit-stop to get some food?" Alex looks to me hopefully.
"When are you not hungry?" I tease him poking his stomach.
"I could say the same to you missy." He glances over to me smirking. I roll my eyes as he points his attention back to the road in front of him.
Oh dear, this boy.
