Remember back in the Garden of Eden when the devil tempted Eve by the tree? "Now the serpent (the devil) was more cunning than any creature of the field which the LORD God had made. And he (through an animal who could speak) said to the woman (Eve), "Is it true that God has said, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'"And the serpent (the devil) said to the woman (Eve), "In dying, you shall not surely die! For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like God, deciding good and evil" (Genesis 3:1 - 5, HBFV throughout). Notice the devil tempted the woman first. What am I saying here? It's easy for us as women to fall for those watered down lines. "Oh I promise to love you no matter what." Or "I promise to stay with you." and "You're the only woman for me." Sounds sweet right? Always understand that when those words are said, check the motives behind them. Are they saying that for commitment purposes or just to get you trapped in their bedroom. Trust me I've been there. I fell for guys sweet comments and I will admit I loved it but after knowing their intentions, it went from being sweet to being sour. If we're not careful, we will end up heartbroken and shameful as Eve (Adam too) when the devil tricked them. Pray about everything the man is saying to you. Ask God is what he saying really real. Sometimes nice words and compliments can feel and sound nice but the only problem with that is how genuine is it? Can it make us or break us?
