My Happy Ending

Chapter 1

BEEP.BEEP.BEEP. My phone alarm clock sounded.

I turned the alarm off. Kept my eyes closed for a minute holding my breath. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15. I blew out a deep breath and sat up. I stretched my arms and let out a loud yawn. I swung my legs off the bed and walked into my bathroom. I did the usual morning routine which is pee first then eat breakfast. I pulled my long hair into a lose bun on the top of my head and walked downstairs. I headed directly to the kitchen since it’s my favorite place in the house.

“Seriously, Aubrey put some pants on!” Aaron says.

“These are girl boxers Aaron. Girls wear them too!” I say sarcastically as I pour myself some oatmeal.

“Leave her alone Aaron” my father says without taking his eyes off his newspaper.

“Yeah leave me alone!” I say to him sticking my tongue out.

“Whatever!” Aaron says picking up his dish and placing it in the sink.

“Guys I want you home by six today please, April is coming over for dinner” my dad says grabbing his things from the table.

“Sure” I say putting my dish in the sink.

I run up to my room and rush into the shower.

In my bathrobe I sat at my makeup vanity and started with my makeup.

I put on a little bit of concealer under my eyes and on some blemishes, I skipped the eye shadow and directly applied some mascara on my eyelashes. I put on my favorite light pink lipstick and got up to change into my outfit of the day. I walked into my closet and turned on the light. I studied my clothes for a bit until I decided to put on something comfortable. I quickly changed and walked into my bathroom. I air dried my hair really quick and braided it into a lose side braid. I grabbed my backpack and rushed downstairs. I walked into the kitchen to get me a VOSS water and grabbed an apple and headed out to my car. I hopped into my cherry red Lexus and I pulled out onto the road.

15 minutes later I arrived at school and parked. I was walking to homeroom when all of a sudden a pair of cold hands covered my eyes from the back.

“I know it’s you Skai” I say laughing.  

“How do you always know it’s me” she says pulling her bag over her shoulder again.

“You’re the only one I know with cold hands all the time” I say

“Did you hear that Suzie and Jackson broke up” she says, not giving me a stupid comeback at my comment.

“Again? What happened this time” I say, not surprised.

Suzie and Jackson have been together since freshman year. They always broke up then got back together again. Everyone in school knows that they will always end up getting back together.

“Suzie told Jackson that she couldn’t go out and then went out with Rebecca” Skai says quickly

“So?” I say not understanding the reason for them breaking up

“Jackson got jealous and threw a fit. Needless to say they fought and broke up” she says fixing her shirt.

“Come with me to the bathroom?” Skai asks.

“Yeah sure” I say

I was standing in the bathroom waiting for Skai to finish. I looked at myself in the mirror. I look like my mom I thought. I had long curly light brown hair. My eyes were a light shade of blue. My nose was small and my lips were full and pink. I was wearing an oversized flannel shirt where I left it open and wore a long tank top under it. I decided to wear jeggings since it looked cute with this outfit. My shoes were my usual Dock Martin in the color maroon. My purse was a Coach cross body that April got me for Christmas. I looked okay. I guess.
