When I get home, I am disappointed that Aarons car wasn’t in the driveway. I park my car in the driveway and walked into the house. I immediately know something is wrong when I see my dad, April, Jim and Tara sitting at the dining room table.
“What’s going on?” I ask
“Aubrey go to your room. I will talk to you later.” My father says
“No, tell me what’s going on?” I ask
“Aubrey come with me” Aiden says walking into the dining room.
“No, what is going on?” I ask
“Aaron’s gone. I came home from work and went to check if he came back. His stuff is gone.” My father says
“You’re lying. There is no way he is leaving me here!” I say tears forming in my eyes.
“It’s true, Julie’s things are gone from her room.” Jim says
“Why would you care?” I say
“Aubrey, don’t be rude” my father says
“No it’s true. You were the one who kicked Julie out!” I say angrily
“You kicked Julie out?” April says surprised by what she’s hearing.
“We were upset at the time. We didn’t think straight. We were trying to get ahold of Julie but she never answered our calls.” Tara says wiping her eyes.
“This is all your fault” I shout
“Aubrey…” my father starts to say but I ignore him and run up to my room. Once in the safety of my own room. I slam the door and lock it. I fall onto my bed crying my eyes out.
“Aubrey please open the door. Let me talk to you” I hear April say
“Aubrey come on” Aiden says
“Leave me alone!” I shout while crying. After many failed attempts of getting me to open the door. They gave up and went downstairs.
After an hour of crying. I was exhausted. My phone buzzed on my dresser. I felt that it was Luke who was texting me but I was too tired to move. Another buzz. I got up and walked over to my phone. My eyes went huge and immediately dialed the number I knew by heart.
“Where are you?” I ask
“I’m at the airport now. Aubrey listen I need you to come right away.” Aaron says sounding sad
“Why are you at the airport? Where are you going? Please don’t do this Aaron. Please come home.” I beg him trying to hold myself from crying again.
