"I hate those types of girls, I didn't even know she'd be here. I never invited her, and I'm sure the others wouldn't either." he said whilst wiping his hands.
"Yeah, I've always disliked working with her, it always made my job so much harder," I said, rubbing the sides of my face.
He let out a small laugh, as it all got quiet.
It was all awkward for a good 10 seconds, before he said;
"You know, wanna get a drink or something?" he asked, gesturing his hand up the stairs.
"Sure," I started, turning around.
"Jona-""He's been gone for a minute now, don't know where he went though," Jean said, walking in front of me.
"C'mon." he added, waiting for me by the stairs.
I followed close behind him, as we walked to the top floor, where more music was and where all the drinks were.
He led us to the bar, where there were two empty seats.
I sat down in one, as he leaned against the bar.
He did a few gestures towards the bartender, followed by a nod. He smiled at him, then took a seat beside me.
I sat facing Jean slightly but mostly towards the bar, with my shoulder leaning on it.
The bartender placed two slight brown and orange drinks in front of us, with a lemon peel on the side.
"What's this one? I've never tried this." I asked, lifting the drink up and slightly swirling it around.
"Vieux Carré," he said, adding a French accent.
I took a sip from it, letting the flavour run down my throat, savouring it all.
"Not bad," I added, clicking my tongue and placing the glass on the counter in front of me.
"Yeah, it's my favourite." He said.
I smiled lightly and asked:
"So, tell me more about your band."-
He told me a lot, and he also had a lot of drinks. A few too many.
I only had around 3, and he had beyond that. He could barely sit straight, but he was very enthusiastic about his band.
He occasionally laughed out of nowhere, and his face turning tomato red from absolutely nothing.
He patted his hand against the counter, whilst a band member approached him from behind.
"Sorry," he gestured to me, after placing his hand on Jean's shoulder.
"Jean, we gotta go." he finished, slightly tugging on his shoulder.
"Hold on a minute, Connie, I'll be down in a few." he slurred, downing the rest of the liquid in the cup.
Connie then sighed and said he would be waiting for him near the stairs.
"Well," he started, standing up from his seat, shaking a bit.
"I gotta go" he snickered, holding the counter for balance.
He was on the verge of falling over, so I stuck my hand out and gripped onto his forearm, trying to keep him straight-up.
"Yeah, you need some help," I said, sliding off my seat and bringing him towards Connie."Whaaaat? No, I'm completely fine." he shouts, hiccuping in between words.
I sighed, and stood him up straight by Connie's side.
