Dreading my way through the last minutes of work, I put the final cup away.
There was no one to even serve anymore, one customer in the last 20 minutes.I was useless.
But also the only one in, excluding the manager.
Knowing my time was just about up, I flipped the 'Closed' sign onto the door."You can leave now, I'll lock up." I heard my manager yell out from the backroom, the door opened slightly.
"Okay, thank you." I replied with a smile as I entered and gathered my things quickly. I hastily picked everything up and strutted out the door.
It was late at night, just past 11 PM. Walking alone in the humid darkness was not something I was looking forward to.
I strolled along the sidewalk, as I always did, watching everything pass by me.Until I made it back. Finally, felt like ages ago since I stepped foot out of the coffee shop. I rushed my way up the concrete stairs, relieved at last.
Once I got inside, I received a message from unknown. It read;———————————————
Hi btw it's Sasha!
Just wanted to tell u
that we changed plans
and instead of shopping
some of us wna go to
the beach on Sat at 4,
u up for it? It's like the
bands last free time
for this week and next.———————————————
To my surprise, it was actually nice that day, and that day being the day after tomorrow. I replied to Sasha with a quick "yes", having nothing better to do on Saturday. After texting her, I immediately shoved my phone away and walked to my room.

"What" I groaned out as my mom shook me awake. It was finally the weekend, luckily they gave me no shifts at the coffee shop either.
"Good you're up. I was wondering, do you want homemade breakfast? Per se waffles?" she asked, releasing her hand off my back.
After hearing her say waffles, how could I resist? I struck right up in bed, no words spoken, then immediately dashed out the the kitchen counter, waiting for nothing else but waffles.
Waffles, how that shit filled me up. My plate was near empty, only drops of syrup remain untouched.
"I see you liked those," my mom said as she places the bowls in the dishwasher.
"Yeah, woah. Thanks mom." I replied as I picked up my plate and loaded it into the dishwasher, letting out a small belch.
"How nice," she said jokingly in response to my burp.
"What? It's all natural. Wanna hear some more?" I asked as I looked up at her.
"Oh no, no no." she giggled.
