I finish up at the office finally, looking at the clock and seeing it's already 6:30 pm. I put my stuff away and lock up my office and head to the elevator.
I say good night to the security staff and walk out of our building. I turn left to walk home and run right into Evan.
"Ev what are you doing here?" I say with a smile.
"Well I figured I would meet you at work since I burned dinner again and figured we may as well go out," he says laughing.
"I told you this was going to happen. You better marry a girl who cooks or hire a great cook," laughing walking with him.
"Or you could just continue to live with me and cook for me," he says.
"Well I am not too sure your future wife would like me hanging around or my future husband would like me living with you," I say playfully pushing him.
"You are probably right, so I guess we'll just have to get married then. That will settle it then."
"Yea I am sure that will happen. I am not exactly your type."
"Maybe my type is changing," he says giving me that killer smile.
I smile back at him and brush that comment off. "So what do you want for dinner?"
"Well I think I just might be in the mood for some sushi," I say.
"Alright I know a good place that is only is about 10 minutes from here," he says grabbing my hand and walking in the other direction.
We get to the sushi restaurant and have a great relaxing dinner. We head home and I have to I couldn't be happier that we are. My shoes were defiantly not made for walking long distances.
"I am going to grab a shower and then movie time?" I ask Ev.
"Absolutely, since you are showering I am picking," he says with a smile.
I head into my bathroom and quickly jump in the shower. I get out and throw on a tank top, some shorts and a zip up hoddie. Walking out into the living room. I see the tv on Netflix and no Evan.
I go over to his room and knock on the door lightly, "Ev, we still on for that movie?"
I hear a woman's voice moaning, "Yes Evan right there baby," and I instantly recognize it as Jen's.
I walk away from his door and turn off the tv. Grabbing a bottle of water and heading to my room. I sit down on my bed and grab my iPad and pull up a Netflix movie.
I sit there trying to concentrate on the movie, but my mind is furious, wondering what happened between when we got home and what Evan told me at dinner about settling down. Maybe Jen was that woman and I couldn't help, but feel a little hurt.
I fall a sleep and wake up around 9:00, it's the weekend and I know Ev has a 2 day break in between games. I throw the covers off and grab my hoddie and make my way into the kitchen. Hearing no sounds I figure Evan and guest are still a sleep.
I start the kettle and put some coffee grounds in the coffee maker for Evan and turn it on. I pop down a bagel and wait for it to pop.
I hear Ev's bedroom door open and foot steps heading towards the kitchen. "There is coffee brewing for you," I say paying attention to my bagel.
"Oh Heather you didn't have to do that for me," I hear an annoying voice say as I turn around.
Seeing Jen in one of Evan's shirts as she sits down on the bar stool at the counter. Making a mental note to burn that stool or at least sanitize it well since I don't know if she bothered to put on underwear.
