It had been 2 months since we found out that we were going to be parents and Evan was so excited.
We found our new place just outside of Toronto. It was about a 45 minute drive in, without traffic, but we loved everything about it.
It was a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. With all the bells and whistle. On 5 ackers of land and was gated all the way around, which Evan insisted for safety.
I was busy in what was going to be the baby's room. Evan was so excited as soon as we moved in he went out and bought all the furniture for the room and set it all up. With help from Greg of course. His best friend was so happy for us and couldn't wait to be an uncle.
"Hey what are you up too?" Evan asks with that killer smile.
"Just thinking of a colour that I want to paint in here," I say leaning against the door frame.
"Well whatever colour you decide on, I'll paint for you. I don't think it's safe for pregnant women to be painting. Inhaling all the paint fumes and stuff." I feel him stand behind me and wrap his arms around me, his hands landing protectively over my stomach.
"You better start getting ready for the game babe or you are going to be late," I say resting my head against his body.
"You coming tonight?"
"Do you need to ask me that?" I say laughing.
He kisses me on the top of the head and heads into our bedroom to get ready.
I love going to Evan's games. Just watching him do what he loves brings a big smile to my face and not to mention I get to spend time with Nicole and most recently Robbie and his dad. Evan gave them the 2 extra tickets he had for the rest of the season and boy that little guy loved hockey.
They haven't missed a game since Evan gave them the tickets and Evan even has shown up to a couple of Robbie's hockey practices to help out. Watching him with Robbie makes me realize what a great dad he'll be with our little peanut.
We had managed to keep out of the press that I was expecting, but it was only a matter if time once I started showing and I was not looking forward to that.
After everything had died down from Evan's press conference and the announcement that we got married, it has been quiet. Almost too quiet and I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Jen came clean to Cam about her pregnancy and he is completely in denial about being the father. He still insists that he isn't the father and Evan is. He even tried to tell Evan that he was the father of my baby. Which is no way the case. We use protection and I was on the pill. So that was a zero chance and Evan didn't believe it for one second. Although now those two can barely be in the same room as one another.
Evan finishes getting ready for the game and no matter how many times I see him in his suit, I still can't believe how handsome he looks.
I stand looking at him leaning on the door frame and smile. Walking over to him I help straighten his tie.
"Thanks," leaning in and kissing me slowly.
"Welcome," pressing myself into him and running my fingers through his hair.
"What are you up too Mrs. Donaldson?"
"Who me? Nothing. Just admiring my very hot husband," leaning in and kissing his neck.
"I have to leave in 10 minutes, but I really do like where this is leading. Can we pick this up after the game?"
"I guess if you don't have time now, but you owe me."
