I didn't know what to say or think when Hayley came down that hallway and out into the living room. I looked at her and it was like I was seeing her for the first time. She looked beautiful and me like an idiot just stood there and couldn't put two words together.
I managed I think to get out wow, but I was desperately trying to think of anything other then how hot she looked.
I didn't want her to go out like that and have random guys all over her. Something inside me turned and I realized how stupid I was for not seeing what was right in front of me.
I slipped my arm around Hayley and whispered to her, "Stay close to me tonight. You are going to have all eyes on you, but you are going home with me." I say her shiver a little and didn't know if it was because of my words or if she was cold. At this point I didn't care.
We got to the club and I slipped my hand into hers as we went in. We headed to the VIP section where some of the guys were waiting for us.
They all said hi and they were looking at Hayls like she was a piece of meat. "You guys remember Hayley," I said to them.
They all nodded and said hello. I held onto her hand tightly feeling the need to protect her. She smiled at me and squeezed my hand.
We all sat down and had some drinks. I saw Nicole take Hayls and some other of the wives and girlfriends to the dance floor down stairs.
I went to the bar to grab another drink and this blonde slid in beside me and started to flirt. Now usually I would be all over this one. She fit everything I used to like in a woman, but tonight I wasn't feeling it. I just wanted Hayley standing there talking with me.
I got my drink and politely excused myself from the blonde and went back to where our table was. Greg was sitting there talking with our captain. He looked over at me and smiled.
"Donaldson, Harrison over here just asked me what Hayley's status is. I told him he better run that one by you first," he said smiling.
"So what is her story Donaldson? She with anyone?" He asked.
Now the right answer would be no she is single, but I didn't want anyone else with her. I wanted her, at least I think I did. "Nah man she is taken," I say.
"Oh do you know the guy. I mean you live with her, do you think she wants an upgrade?" He asked smiling.
"She doesn't need one, she's got me," I say standing up to go and find her.
"Fucking right man. Go get her Donaldson and I want an invite to the wedding," I hear Greg shout.
I walk down the stairs and push through the crowd looking for Hayley. Women try to stop me and flirt with me, but I don't want them, I want Hayls. Hearing Harrison ask about her like that made me realize that I need to make a move or she will eventually end up with someone who isn't me. Hell she still could if I am too late.
I finally spot her and there is a guy and a girl standing there talking to her. I look at her face and instantly know she is uncomfortable and whatever is being said to her is hurting her.
I walk faster and as get closer I see the guy is her douche bag ex Andy. Fuck just what she needs.
I manage to get over to her and slide my arm protectively around her. "Get the hell out of here Andy," I say looking at him.
"Oh isn't this convenient. The knight in shining armor is here to rescue you again."
"Fuck off man, have you not caused Hayley enough pain for a lifetime?" I ask him.
