-"Hey, Els..." Gideon said to his girlfriend through the phone as soon as he landed in Syria. To say that he was nervous is an understatement considering this was his first deployment and he was a long way from Seattle right now. "I just arrived at the base, letting you know as promised."

A small giggle could be heard in the other end of the call, "Can I say that even though it's been a couple of hours I miss you already?"

Robinson can imagine her crossing her legs while laying upside down in the bed, the small thought causing him to smile involuntarily. "I miss you too, baby." He sighed after it, the next couple of months will be hard for them. "Let's hope time flies by pretty quickly, I won't be gone for too long."

Eleonore couldn't help but think how her boyfriend definitely had one hand in his waist, a thing he usually does when he was serious about something. "Only for eight months."

-"I'm doing it for the both of us, Els." He started saying once again, "I can get us enough money to even pay for your college tuition, no way I'm letting you carry that package all on your own."

-"You know I got a scholarship, but I do appreciate your doing." There's just something about him that made Eleonore feel like the luckiest girl alive.

The conversation was cut short when in Gideon's end someone called for him. "Robinson, you're requested at the barracks immediately."

-"Yes, sir." He replied in a tone Eleonore was still getting used to hear, "I'm sorry, girl. Duty calls." The now soldier said almost sheepishly.

In Seattle, the girl sighed because she didn't wanted the conversation to end this fast. "Be careful, okay? Give me a call when you're available."

-"You know I will." A moment of silence passed before he added, "I love you."

-"I do too, Gid."

And just like that, the call came to an end. Robinson put his phone inside his backpack prior to heading in the direction one of his superiors told. It didn't take him a long time to find the building, thus being one of the largest in the area.

Upon arrival and pleasantries aside, the real deal began. "Sergeant, Robinson from Benning reporting for duty."

-"At ease, private." The woman who was at the front talked to him. "Captain David spoke highly of you while you were on the way here." The small talk across the tent came to a halt. She then began walking towards the new addition, the others that were sitting in the small benches couldn't help but stare at the encounter. It wasn't always that a captain recommended someone that just graduated from training. "He said many great things and that I should be lucky by even having you here."
