chapter four;
unfamiliar—
I WAS getting used to sleeping and waking up in this world. It was even scary to think that I was already accepting it. Who wouldn't anyway? Halos isang linggo na rin ako rito. I was still waiting for the Second Prince to show up, but looked like he was busy dealing with other things, than me who was basically his prisoner.
Somehow it was okay for me. I was comfortable here.
Wala akong magawa rito! I wanted to walk around the palace vicinity but I was told that I wasn't allowed!
But luckily I was saved by the cute artic marble fox from boredom. The cute little one would visit me sneakily. And would take all my fruits. It was so cute when he creates those little snowflakes. Looked like he had the power of ice.
Unlike the first time that I saw it, it was now more comfortable with me.
I always talk to the artic marble fox, and because it always visited me whenever I was alone, I was growing attached to it.
"Hey, cute one, should I give you a name?" I murmured softly while sitting on the floor beside the bed and the marble fox was on my lap. I discovered that it was a male, too.
The white fox created snowflakes again and I couldn't help but smile as I tickle his tummy. "So cute." It created a small sound and I chuckled.
"Should I name you Whitey?" I told him and he stopped playing and blinked at me. Of course, that would be the first thing to come in mind.
"Snowy? Cutie? Grapey? Strawberry?" I suggested consecutively thinking of his colour and the fruits he liked to eat.
I kept thinking of a name, and I was getting rejected and rejected and rejected. Grabe, naman 'tong bubwit na 'to! Napaka-choosy! I pouted at him, and he shook his head like he was saying that I really sucked at giving names.
Tsk.
"Eh, ano ipapangalan ko sa 'yo? Ikaw na lang mag-isip!" I spoke to him while whining. He shook his head and rolled and played with the snowflakes that he was making. I tried to come up with names again.
"Since you're white and you create snowflakes and ice... how about Yule?"
He blinked his cute eyes and it seemed like his blue icy eyes sparkled in delight. I smiled and felt a sense of accomplishment.
"Looks like your name from now on would be Yule. Do you know that it means winter solstice?"
