chapter eight;
ruin your life—
JUST like what Kallisto told me yesterday, I was now assigned one maid. I was so happy to see who it was because she was already familiar, I would see her whenever she'd place meals on my table. She told me that her name was Leah.
It was good because she wasn't trembling when she saw and greeted me unlike when she first entered my room.
She was even happy and accepted immediately when she became my maid. She was even saying that the others were slightly afraid but was also envious. I couldn't really blame the hesitation, afterall, Portia still had that image to them.
Over the time, it would change though—because I was going to make it that Portia was erased in their mind and only Eve would remain. To fully live happily in here, I would need to establish my image and name first.
"Lady Baudelaire—"
"I'd really really like it if you call me Eve, instead." I gave her my brightest beam and she nodded as she smiled.
"Then, I would heed your request, Lady Eve."
Aaaah! Finally someone called me that! Pakiramdam ko tuloy, na-achieve ko na 'yong first goal ko sa mundong 'to! I couldn't explain what I was feeling so I went to Leah, while jumping and hugged her tightly.
She was taken aback. "L-Lady... I stepped back and cackled. I knew it was really out of the basic etiquette but I was so excited.
"Thank you!" It was a whole-hearted thanks because it felt like it had been so long that I was called my name or nickname.
Well, as far as I know, I should be called 'Madam' or 'Princess' or an appropriate honourifics now, but Kallisto told me, some people in the palace didn't really know about our marriage, so I was still called Lady.
It didn't really matter for me though because I'd rather be called Eve than the titles.
"But Lady Eve, you need to go to your room now," she said politely while bowing down.
"Oh, do I need to bring things from here to there?"
"No, My Lady. His Highness already has prepared everything for your new room." He didn't really need to provide that much, but everything free is happiness!
"Hmm, I'll go there but can I go to the garden, first?" I asked in a really cute voice. I even blinked several times to make her agree. She was a little flustered but she nodded her head.
"Thank you, thank you!" masayang-masayang sabi ko at halos magtatalon pa.
So, this was the perks of being a wife to Kallisto, huh?
Medyo sumablay nga lang sa ugali, pero I'm here to save the day!
It felt like freedom welcomed me. I also hesitated for a bit at first. Because it was my first time to ever go out of this room.
