⚠️ Warning ⚠️ - There will be a lot of emotional stuff in this chapter.

Jasper felt the color slowly drain from his face and the sweat rolling down between his shoulder blades. At the current moment, Tsukishima was towering over him as he sat on his knees on the bed.

On top of that, he was shirtless, exposing every cut, bruise, rib, stitch, and bandages. To be honest, he looked like he had been through hell.

Tsukishima had already assumed the worst, but this? This was far worse than what he imagined. So he had to assume far worse.

Tsukishima narrowed his eyes and abruptly raised his hand. Jasper flinched confirming all his thoughts.

Slowly, he lowered as hand and watched Jasper's ocean blue eyes avoid his gaze.

Tsukishima's eyes trailed down Jasper's fit and broken body, Every wound was visible, how little he had eaten, and how his hands were trembling. Tsukishima sighed and reached for him, and almost pulled away when he flinched.

He grabbed his head and pulled him close to his body, Tsukishima was hugging him. "Why didn't you tell me, idiot?" He mumbled into his silky black hair. Jasper let out a strangled sound as if he were trying not to cry. He gripped onto the back of his shirt as if Tsukishima would disappear.

"I can't......" His voice cracked when he spoke and for some reason, it struck a chord in Tsukishima's heart. He pulled the taller boy closer to him and sat beside him as Jasper hugged him properly this time.

"If I told someone, they would take River away. I won't be 18 until December 16. That's still 3 months away. So I have to endure it, for River." Tsukishima clenched his fists angrily.

How could someone do this to their own child? Wait a minute...

"Wait, did you say 18?" Tsukishima raised an eyebrow. It was irrelevant to the situation but he was honestly curious.  What was a 17-year-old doing as a first-year? Jasper chuckled, "Yeah. I suppose I never told you," Jasper wiped his nose. "I'm a third-year."

Tsukishima turned white.

"Sorry, I guess I should have told you huh?" Tsukishima sighed and stood up. "It doesn't matter. Anyways, the nurse said you need to eat more and stop exercising so much. On top of that you need a lot of sleep and to stop 'falling downstairs." He glared at Jasper to make sure he got the point. Jasper looked at the floor sheepishly.

"Geez with all the symptoms of no sleeping and no eating, you'd think you were working a job every night while living in a motel." Tsukishima glanced at him while rummaging through his bag to find a shirt. Though he stopped when Jasper avoided his gaze again.

The pieces clicked in his head.

"YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME HUNTER!"

Thankfully Tsukishima calmed down threw a shirt at him. "Come on idiot, schools over and the team is worried about you. They're waiting at the ice cream shop at the park for us." Jasper slipped the shirt over his head. "Do they know?"

He slung both of their bags over his shoulder and helped up the frail boy. "I'm sure they have your suspensions since they saw me carrying you to the nurse's office and watched her pull off your shirt." Jasper grew flustered. Whether it was from him knowing Tsukishima carried him, or Tsukishima holding his hand at that moment,

They would never know.

Tsukishima chuckled at his red face and admired how he looked in his tee-shirt. Though Jasper was taller than Tsukishima, he was a lot skinnier if that were possible. He had more of a feminine figure.
