CHAPTER 44

3rd Person's POV

All of the students at the campus were busy at their trainings, for the upcoming Intrams. The campus' band were practicing for the music they're going to play, while the athletes were training so hard to compete.

"Welcome back, Nayeon-ah!" Taeyeon, the teacher in charge of the campus' band greeted.

"Thanks, Ms. Kim!" Nayeon replied and bowed her head.

Nayeon and her fellow bandmates took their seats inside the music room, while Taeyeon stood in front to lead their practice.

"Yuri-ah, can you please distribute these notes." Taeyeon said, and handed the papers to the hamster-looking girl. She distributed the papers, and went back to her seat.

"So, for this year's intramurals, the songs were going to play aside for our campus' cheer are Taylor Swift's "You belong with me" and Paramore's "Still into You." The school's director chose the song, so we can't refuse to it." Taeyeon stated, and everyone just nodded their heads in agreement.

"Now, grab your instruments and let's start practicing." Everyone grabbed their instruments, and started studying the notes given.

(TIMESKIP)

After an hour or so, they are halfway studying the song. Taeyeon announced that they'll continue practicing tomorrow. Everyone bid goodbye and thanked each other for hardwork.

"Hey, Momo what's up!" Seulgi said, when she saw Momo at the gym.

"Hi, Seulgi! Momo shouted and engulfed her into a hug.

"What are you doing here?" Wendy asked

"Oh, didn't Jennie told you?" She asked, and the girls looked clueless.

"No, she didn't said anything." Yeri replied.

Jennie then appeared and waved at Momo.

"Hey Momo! Ready for today?" Jennie asked and clung her arms at Momo's shoulder.

"Yeah! I'm kinda nervous and exited today." Momo answered and smile.

"Hey! What's going on?" Irene asked.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you that Momo's going to replace Somi." Jennie said, and all of them "ooh"ed.

"Really?! That was hella lit!" Lisa exclaimed and hug the latter.

"Let's continue this later. Chungha sunbae's calling us." Rosé said, and all of them gather at the center.

Jennie stood beside Chungha, and they started doing the warm-up.

"Hey, who's that girl beside Lisa?" Chungha asked.

"Oh, she's Momo. Hirai Momo from class 1-A. She's the one that I pick to replace Somi." Jennie explained.

"Ohh..okay. Can we see her perform a freestyle? I'm just wondering." Chungha said, and Jennie agreed.

After doing warm-ups, Jennie called Momo and she stood infront.

"Ms. Hirai, please introduce yourself." Jennie said and winked at her.

Momo, although she's nervous, she takes a deep breath and face infront.

"Hi everyone, I'm Hirai Momo from class 1-A, and I am going to be the replacement for Jeon Somi. Please take care of me." Momo said, and everyone cheered for her.

"Thank you, Ms. Hirai. Now, can you show us any freestyle dance of yours?" Chungha said, and Momo agreed.

Jennie played a song, and Momo closed her eyes to feel the music. Once she's immersed into the music, she starts to sway her body into the beat. Her moves were so smooth like a feather, and expression were so accurate to the genre of the song. Everyone in the gym were cheering and clapping their hands for Momo's performance. It was a jaw dropping performance and they loved it.

When the music ended, Momo bows her head and the crowd cheered again. Chungha approached Momo with a wide smile on her lips.

"That was a great performance Momo-ssi! You will be the new ace of the group." Chungha explained.

Momo blushed at the compliment and thanked Chungha shyly.

"Sunbaenim, I thought that I'm the ace here?" Lisa asked cutely, earning a loud laugh from the others.

"This is so unfair Sunbaenim, I though I'm the ace here? I am the your best pick." Seulgi pouted, and once again the others laugh.

Chungha shook her head while Jennie looked at them ludriciously.

"Okay, enough of this cringy things. Now let's practice our steps, and polish some mistakes. As for Momo, I'll teach her the steps." Jennie announced, and everyone agreed. They all went to their respective places, and started practicing.

"Jeongyeon unnie!" Ryujin yelled and tackle Jeongyeon on the ground.

"Yah, get off me!" Jeongyeon said playfully, and pushed the younger.

"Hey, that's a yellow card for you." Ryujin pouted, and Jeongyeon shook her head, before grabbing her head and messing the latter's hair.

"Yah, stop it.. I spent 3 hours fixing my hair." Ryujin rebuke, and Jeongyeon stops.

"Where's coach by the way?" Jeongyeon asked and looked around the field.

"He went at the office for awhile, but he'll be back before the training starts." Ryujin said.

Jeongyeon nodded her head, and went at the bleachers and layed down. Ryujin followed her, and seated beside her. Silence surround them, until Ryujin spoke.

"You know what unnie, it was so tough when you're not around." Jeongyeon sat up, when Ryujin talked.

"What do you mean?" The older asked, and looked at her junior.

"Well uhm... when you and Nayeon unnie were kidnapped, Coach Song was so down and he looked hopeless. Because he lost his ace, and he knows that we can't defeat other schools. So he kinda trained us very hard. We'll start at 8 am and we'll finished at 4 pm." Ryujin said, and Jeongyeon felt bad.

She rubbed Ryujin's back and showed a sad smile.

"Sorry, Ryujin-ah. It's my fault." Jeongyeon apologized, but Ryujin shook her head.

"You don't have to apologize unnie, maybe coach did thay so his players would be flexible. So that we can do other positions. In fact, coach turned me into a setter." Ryujin said happily.

"Really? That's a good news then." Jeongyeon patted her head, and smile.

After a few hours, their coach arrived and saw Jeongyeon.

"Oh, there's coach! Let's go." Ryujin pulled Jeongyeon at the field, and approached the old man.

"Welcome back, Yoo! I thought I'm going to lose my ace." Their coach exclaimed and Jeongyeon just laugh.

"I'll leave you guys to talk." Ryujin excused her self and went to the other players.

"How are you? You lost a lot weight huh." The old man asked.

"Did I?" Jeongyeon asked and examining her body jokingly.

"But I'm glad that you're back." Coach Song said, and looked at her wrist watch.

"Let's continue our talk later, but for now let's go training shall we?" Jeongyeon smiled and released a contented sigh.

"Sure!" Jeongyeon said happily.

Oh and by the way, I just wanna apologize for not updating. 🥺 It's because my whole family tested POSITIVE in COVID-19, so we were isolated 😭😂. And another thing is the WiFi that I'm using were replaced into my auntie's house so yeah..
